Have you guys ever fanned a hammer on a single action revolver? Do you have any tips or tricks? Am I going to blow my hand off (probably)?

The most important tip: Don't do it you faggot.
Fanning the hammer is hard on the gun and will lead to it developing timing issues.

If you ever want to do this buy cheap pot metal .22 and use blanks.

Protip: Fucking don't you faget

I tried it once on my 1858 Remington, and I wouldn't recommend it. You won't be able to hit anything beyond 10 feet and like you might develope timing problems.
I have on a couple of Rugers. It's about as fun as a mag dump with anything else. Has to be something with a light kick, 38 would be best.

Are you sure you know what "fanning" is?

Nah dude I'll make one out of pvc pipe, don't worry

Yeah, I know what it is and how to do it, but if I don't palm it enough, I'm worried that the cylinder won't be lined up with the receiver.

It will only go off if the cylinder is lined up, unless its a total piece of shit.

What if it's like this // close?
