I shot a .357 mag with 110 grain jacketed hollow points, and it didn't kick too bad. What rounds should I shoot out of a .44 mag to get the same effect?
>>32868054
.44 special
>>32868054
look thats a lightweight bullet it WILL kick less than a 125, dependes on the speed tough, if its a hot 110gr load and a mid 125 gr load come other factor in mind, like muzzle blast, noise, and psychological effect of those, of a faster proyectile and which will kick more, depends.
In .357 buffalo bore loads 180gr them up to soaring at 1400 Fps!! now thats a hunting load

When I said the same effect I meant the same recoil
Why do the majority of people on /k/ seem to be afraid?
This is a board on 4chan notorious for having some of the dumbest mother fuckers you'll ever meet.
That being said, I'm not afraid, just paranoid.
>>32868019
Its along the same sort of mental lines as not wanting to die a degrading/bitch death, like being raped then murdered. Most people here dont wanna be shot and killed by some dumb libtard who thinks because the person supports X they deserve to die because of the libtards retarded views.
How many people do you think are forcing this new 'afraid' meme?
I think there's about 3-6 individuals, probably not from 4chan.
>>32868077
There's literally nothing wrong with being paranoid, the only other option is ignorance.
Would the Artillery of WW1 be useful in modern combat? Was watching pic related when i started thinking of this question.
>Anime is Yōjo Senki
WW1 guns were used in WW2. WW2 guns would be useful today. WW1 guns would have lower performance, especially in range, but could still be used, provided we have the ammunition.
Mind you, artillery has improved a lot since WW1 : extended range (+50Km), better mobility, better accuracy, dual purpose cluster munitions, and above all, much, much better communication which allows more precise guiding of the strikes. All in all that means today's artillery plays in another league than WW1 gun, but those older guns could still be used with some effect, hypothetically. At the end of the day, melinite is melifuckinglite.
And you actually can see WW1 guns still being used to day : they are called mortars. Syrians rebels are using very crude guns that aren't any more sophisticated (even less) than WW1 guns, and apparently they have had some success.

WHATEEEEEEEE? HuhEEEEEEE?
So I have a Glock 30 and I am itching for a larger .45
I know everyone would shout the 1911, but I always wanted an H&K USP. I know HK released the newer HK45 line, but the USP is what I want.
I'm torn on either the fullsize or the compact model. Not too concerned with mag capacity since it is .45 and it gets thick as fuck if it gets stacked tight, shorter barrel not really mattering since the .45 is slow anyways, I am stuck on wanting the compact because the full size is a bit large. Not Mk23 large, but still pretty huge.
But at the same time, only the full size USP's have the unique "recoil reduction" spring design while the compact only has a buffer.
Which should I go, /k/? I know some of you have or shot these guns. Your take?
>>32867928
Sounds like you want the usp. And rightly so, a lot of people have them and they're solid guns.
Personally, if I get another .45 it'll be a Colt 1911. But then again, I'm a 28 year old fudd that likes the older funs.
1911's unironically suck ass, whatever you do, not that.
I'd personally go with some Sig, but that's just me. P225 or P220 carry preferably, but if you don't have that kind of dosh it's understandable.
I own the coach and the tactical, both in .45. They are both fucking amazing, if you want to carry it I'd pick the compact of course. Otherwise I'd start with the fullsize. The recoil on the compact is pretty low too, no idea how they do it.

Are the cold steel "apocalypse proof" videos accurately showing how durable their tools are? Obviously they re-grind the edges, but can their "tests" be trusted?

Ppl think what they do is actual testing? A lot of the shit they do is retarded, you should only watch it if you're drinking.

How much ammo should I have in my BoB?
I'll already be carrying 160/240 rounds in magazines depending on whether I take my 7.62 or 5.56 as well as an additional 45 rounds for my pistol.
But how much should be in my ruck if any?
>>32867547
An additional mag per firearm as last precaution
>>32867554
Well I'd have 7+1 for my rifle and 2+1 for my pistol so if I throw in an extra mag for both in my ruck. That sounds reasonable and shouldn't add to much weight.
>>32867561
Yeah basically what I was getting at

How are you guys handling the coming of the new gun laws?
Are you still buying guns and mags or have you decided to reconsider your hobby?
I'm currently waiting for a decision of the EU parliament since I want to buy a new AR15 but somehow I get the feeling that I will be throwing money out of the window when they end up banning ARs and AKs in the future.
So what's the tl;dr of all of this? It doesn't effect me but it suck to hear about it happening.
>>32867419
Build guns
Bury guns
Bury ammo
There has been significant resistance to it and at this point i simply hope that it will not pass. However as a member of the national guard, I should be immune to this shit, even if it does. Sucks though.
Hey /k/ newguns here.
Over the summer I got my first handgun after a lifetime of being in an anti-gun family. Bought a home in NC that was abandoned and found a couple boxes of 9mm ammo in a trash pile. They've been out and open to the elements for the past 3 years. Just wondering if they'd be safe to fire or if I should toss em.
>>32867389
Look at the head stampings. Are they all the same?
They might be someone's shitty reloads they threw out after they had a double charge that blew their gun to shit.
If they're factor ammunition though they're probably fine.
>>32867389
They should be, most dangerous case with those could be a hangfire, and most likely dud or a jam.
If your handgun is steel frame, it should not harm you anyway.
>>32867389
I wouldn't risk it. They have probably had a lot of water on them, etc. You will probably get a lot of duds and possibly hang fires, which are super dangerous.
