How well do these swords work for dicking around/backyard cutting?

I can't even respond seriously. The ad made me die of laughter.

I have a cheap samurai sword like this and just it's pure bliss letting your inner sperg out and slicing up stupid shit in the backyard like a samurai
>>32867909
is it wrong that I want to buy one of these?
No maker I've heard of, but I haven't tried keeping up with this market for over a decade. Really fucking cheap though, and getting more than what you pay for ain't exactly common, to put it diplomatically. Don't really look like pure wallhangers at least, and 1045 ain't 420, but it's not exactly what you'd want to see either.
Something like a Hanwei Practical katana is probably a much safer buy. That one won't be worse than the price tag demands at least.

this is sort of on topic
does anyone know where I can battle-ready (or at least durable and tough) lorica segmentata and other roman legionnaire armor + gladius???

Just don't bother. Get one froma brand like Hanwei, Ronin, Cheness, Dynasty Forge, ect... A minimum of $150, I recommend Cheness or Ronin. If you HAVE to go cheap, get a more expensive Mudashi or Ryumon.
If you live in the US Kult of Athena is a good retailer. The forum Sword Buyers Guide (SBG) is your friend.
That is literally everything you need to know to get a good Katana.
Pic related is my Hanwei Raptor.

Depends on your budget... There is Albion, but they are VERY expensive, like $800+ and take more than half a year to get. There really are not many in between ones I know of, either really high end, or really low end and crap.
If you just want it for cutting and don't care for historical accuracy: The Cold Steel Gladius Machete and the Cobra Steel Kindjal and Lakonia (pic related).

This guy.... I honestly find him really obnoxious... idk what it is, maybe the tacky music... But when I look at him I think of that super fat sword "reviewer"
I mean get it if you insist... Just don't expect any quality or it's longevity. For the money you are better getting a Condor Tactical Katana (pic related) or a good Swordchete, or the Cobra Steel Waki

I should explain, the Condor while not being traditional and more of a Waki size, it's actually a well made blade. It will actually hold up over time, and even be strong enough for some abuse.
>>32867909
oh shit they sell goldbrand on amazon

Also, that blade was a sample from the company, so it might be custom-made/hand selected for not-shittiness
Why are all these katanas 40"+? Are they including the length of the grip as well?
You might as well use a butter knife.
If you want something that won't break when you swing it like an autistic nigger, get a Cold Steel. They're shit for actual sword stuff, but sturdy enough for what you need.
But I already got this on the way
