how does the bore height on the ppq compare to other pistols like the glock, vp9, p320? most of the forums say it's pretty high, but it doesn't look too bad from the pictures I've seen. then again, there aren't many pictures directly comparing it to the other pistols, so it's kind of hard to gauge it.
PPQ MK2 Owner here, it's kinda high, but it's not too bad, it's still controllable and accurate for the most part.
>>32852522
High bore axis isn't a problem for people who actually thier shoot guns
All you need to know is that it DOES NOT MATTER in any practical way. Anyone that shoots enough to feel the difference shoots enough to overcome the minuscule variance
Are groups like these (Nevada Watchman) the real threat during SHTF? Recently I have been watching some of that show 'Doomsday preppers' and Ive went down a rabit hole looking at all these different 'militias'. It seems like these groups might actually be more terrifying than whatever disaster occurs. Not because, they are well armed or geared (Which most are not), but because they are in these odd little groups.
Im not against them being able to do that at all, for sure they should if they want to. But it got me thinking, If I ever prep, I might prep for a group like this doing stupid stuff, rather than whatever disaster happens.
(P.S Pretty sure nutnfancy has a group like this too)
these guys are goofs who will disband when you drop their point man
>>32852479
>Are groups like these (Nevada Watchman) the real threat during SHTF?
no. Some groups might cause more problems than they solve but, of course, it depends on the group in question. Personally, i dont see reason to be concerned about a small militia any more than about Jamal & loot squad
>they are in these odd little groups
exactly. Members of these small militias will initially do what they can within the scope of their families & friends & close neighbors. Likely only people who consent to their activity. Obviously there might be exceptions.
>If I ever prep, I might prep for a group like this doing stupid stuff, rather than whatever disaster happens.
counterproductive. Make preparations for disasters, arm yourself, & practice plans of action for various events. Including evading an armed group of people
>>32852650
Probably, its funny you say that becuase a lot of these groups like talk about patrolling the land and doing mass movements. If shit really hit the fan i doubt id do a patrol outside my general street.
>>32852787
Do you think there are just as many unlawful groups as lawful ones? Thats what concerns me. On youtube alone (Including these guys) there are a ton of self claimed lawful groups. Im not as worried about these guys, they seem like good people. But if theres say 10 groups on the internet willing to admit they have a militia, imagine how many unlawful groups are planning and preparing themselves. Hell one of them was stupid enough to say that on doomsday preppers that he was gonna raid other people.
So /k/, what have you bought recently? Just took home a brand new Wilson Combat Beretta 92G today. Pretty stoked to shoot it later this week. So, lets see your new toys. Also tax return gun buying thread, whatever you're looking to buy, post 'em.
Bought an imported Walther P38 (P1) from a pawnshop. Paid $475 for it and 3 mags. Apparently the regards running the store didn't think the three mags had to be for the gun as I'm sure one is a .45 magazine
It's nothing special but I wanted that 80s cop A E S T H E T I C
Maybe, maybe not man.
Now this is some heavy firepower! Designed to hit Paris from Berlin.. in WW1.

If that was a Sig P320 it would have a better trigger (no "trigger safety") and it would be standoff capable, meaning the light would not have to protrude beyond the muzzle as a standoff device, thereby reducing the overall length of the weapon.

I'm sure we've all seen a million of these threads, but I'm doing a bit of research and would like to get your opinions.
What do you consider to be the most important distinctions between the AK47 and the M16 and their respective variants aside from the obvious? Their philosophy of use, for example, such as an AK's optimistic ironsight range which would seem to imply volleying fire in the general area until you move to another range?
Ak
>Lower speed, higher drag
>more force on impact (better penetration)
>less accurate at longer ranges
>more simple, more reliable
>less picky on ammo
>muh durability
Ar
>Higher speed, lower drag
>less force on impact (less penetration)
>more accurate at longer ranges
>more complex parts, higher chance of malfunction
>some variants don't like some ammos
>Muh 'merican quality
>>32851179
thanks, man.
I'd always thought that the penetration bit was that 5.56 and 5.45 would penetrate soft targets better and be more likely to stop within them while the 7.62x39 would be more likely to bust through cover and concealment while maintaining lethal potential. Is it the case that 7.62x39 penetrates better across the board?
Also important would be logistics, I think. The ability to carry a shitload more ammo for the same weight and simplification by having many guns and many fireteam roles use the same ammo.
>>32851179
(Cont) the AK can be compared to a hammer. It gets the job done, but there are much better tools for a specific task. It's good at what is was designed for.
The ar can be compared to a power drill. It's more sophisticated and is more carefully put together. A precision instrument, but not like that of a bolt action or hunting rifle. It's more designed for precise shots where the traditional AK is more for suppression

Why so booty blasted fat chunks?
Hey /k/, I just recently turned 18 and got my first rifle( Winchester XPR). I went to the range and had a lot of fun shooting it, only problem is, I've got no idea how to clean it. I have a kit and some One shot, but I was reading the manual and apparently you aren't supposed to hit the crown, " Care should be exercised to ensure that
the cleaning rod does not strike the crown of the
muzzle, as damage to this area can affect the accuracy
of your rifle." All I have are copper cleaning rods, and an online tutorial advised against using them, and only pushing them through the barrel once, while taking it out from the muzzle end, ensuring bristles dont break off in the barrel. but the manual says I shouldnt strike the crown with a cleaning rod. I'm lost /k/, care to help?
>>32849808
Remove the bolt and put your cleaning rod through the chamber. Super Simple Stuff.
Oi oi and ello thar /k/. Mates of mines are renaming their war of the roses reenactment company and need as many ideas as possible and after trawling books and internet I can't find jack shit (because I'm crap at researching and get distracted by foriegn mercenary pliliging stories). Please help me you beautiful /k/combat enthusiasts cuz I want them to be like thankyou and invite me to their weapon training days.
The critea is basically this:
1. Hampshire based
2. No animals or Celtic themes
3. Funny is OK but it has to be clever (like one suggestion was "the levy of bevois" but they don't want to be called the brigade of but heads).
Please help, also 1400s threads
So I'm looking for some blunt weapons i can make at home without having to go out and buy tools and shit. Anyone got anything?

Christmas tree Ogre Club?
Hey, /k/. Britbong here.
I was wondering something; could I convert an AR15 into a belt-fed rifle and also have it have a bump fire receiver? Would that be possible?
Because I kinda want to fill an ammo can with cartridges, somehow attach it to an AR15 and go ham at a gunrange with it.
>>32849192
Possible? Sure, perhaps.
Are you capable? No. How do I know? You're asking /k/.
>>32849192
That airsoft gun will explode, take off a few fingers then get you raped in prison by Vladislav and Pietr. Record the vid please and post it here.

Yes it's possible but you're a bong and that's an airsoft gun.
