No they are fully converting to the hk416 because it is a better rifle and because the famas needed special 5.56 casings. So they couldnt trade ammo with allies in Afghanistan etc cause the round would blow up in the famas.

You are an idiot. They switched the the HK416 because they shut down arms factory and it won their test to replace (Along with familiarity with the HK company since they made some parts for the FAMAS.) F1A, F2 and F2A steel case ammunition are no longered issued. Starting from the F3, they switched to imported brass because the french couldn't get the metallurgy right in the beginning. Once they had their QC fuck ups fixed, they upgraded the F1s with 1:9" twist barrels so it can use the SS109 and M193 cartridge, with the rifle being chambered in the locally produced F4 cartridge. Then they came back with British imported SS109 and designated it as the F5 because France is too fucking poor to produce their own damn ammo. The FAMAS works fine as is, only issue was a 25 round magazine propietary that their poor ass army couldn't upgrade with the G2 for a 30 round STAGNAG and some other minor stuff.
