I just won a bid for what seems to be a really nice Hi Power. I bought it because I previously thought it was a MkIII because of the lack of drain hole and dovetailed front sight but now I look even closer and I notice a lack of ambi safety and it's short, very akin to the MkI. What the fuck did I just by, is it some sort Franken-gun they made with parts just lying around??
The other side
>>32916694
you bought a sex toy shaped like a Hi power, used for anal insertion. common mistake.
>>32916694
Stay away from surplus Hi-Powers. A anon the other night bought one from AIM that was advertised as in good condition and the barrel was fucked and there was pitting on the frame.
I also saw that exact same gun browsing gun broker. All the guns are coming in from Israel and some have been repaired using older parts. It has the Mk I style safety. but it's still a MK III
My advice would be to buy one from CDI sales, you can see the exact gun you are getting if you're really a poor fag but still want a Hi-Power, but thats your own risk
does anyone carrying in a shoulder holster. i,m thinking of switching my oc rig from owb to a shoulder holster and im not sure if i should get all leather or a kydex holster. is the kydex too hard under the arm.
>>32916690
You just have to try it for leather versus kydex, it's personal preference.
I would only say that pic related is kind of not great for civilian carry because you flag literally anyone that walks behind you. I know it's technically safe in a proper holster, but just something to think about. They make shoulder holsters that point down but would probably draw slower.

Jesus this picture is pure /k/ distilled into a 500x332, 71 kb jpg file.

Why would you OC with a shoulder holster? why not just get a chest holster, much better if you are hiking or carrying a pack.
I'm just gonna leave this here.

>Former Sen. Kelly Ayotte, who spearheaded the effort to save the A-10, is now gone from Capitol Hill. She basically argued that the A-10 could provide more accurate and more reassuring fire in close-in fights. However, Goldfein, who led Central Command’s air forces, told reporters at a Defense Writers Group breakfast this morning that when he divvied up the Close Air Support mission he sent Predators to regions where he needed persistence, B-1s where he needed speed of response, range and the ability to strike repeatedly, and F-16s and F-15s to the rest. Terrain and distance from air bases dictated his assignments, he said. A-10s were limited by range, speed and persistence, he noted.
>The Air Force’s top uniformed leader also indicated that the F-35 review ordered by Defense Secretary Jim Mattis was unlikely to result in a smaller number of Lockheed Martin’s F-35As being bought by the Air Force. The service, far and away the largest buyer of the F-35, plans to buy 1,763 A models and Goldfein gave no indication that would change. Instead, he said the more F-35As the service can buy, the more quickly it can replace fourth generation aircraft like the F-16, and the F-15 — let alone the A-10.
>“What we don’t need is a lot of turbulence in the program right now,” Goldfein said, to either the Air Force, the Navy, the Marines, or the program’s foreign partners. He also said that the Air Force would recommend it buy additional F-35As in the 2017 supplemental spending bill, although he said it might not be the top priority.

Hello /k/
My new step son is coming to live with my wife and I in a few months and he says he wants his room to be decorated in military stuff because his biological father and myself are both in the military and he wants to join someday.
What stuff do you guys have around the house/in your room or want to get to have around the place?
Pic related I have one of these helmets back at my old folks place and am thinking about picking it up for him.
>>32916384
Camonet errywhere. Flags. Both are cheap as shit if you go chinese.
>biological father
Cuckness runs in the family, you'll be telling your very tanned "son" soon if he wants to go hunting and he'll prefer to stay at home playing basketball.
>>32916438
good idea thanks.
>>32916515
ill have you know he is "tanned" on his mothers side thank you verry much and I love the extra income im getting having a dependent.
What's your favorite homemade MRE?
>>32916369
spam and pic related.
>>32916369
I cut two circles out of my cumbox and then grill them over an open flame. Wash it all down with some strawberry quik
>>32916369
That MRE and the inforgraphic explaining it further are complete garbage. Literally everything in that "MRE" is a terrible choice for an emergency meal. It's like it was made as joke.
Been looking into buying a handgun for carry, and wasn't too sure what to get. New to owning a gun, so, wanted some opinions, and things to consider when buying. I'm not completely new to guns, just to owning one, so I know how to handle one, just looking for advice on what a decent handgun would be for carry purposes.

Jst a ruse to get gun people to vote against the ATF disbandment.
NRA will fight against this.

everyone at the ATF is worried about being shitcanned as they should be.
Are there any major /k/ celebrities?
I know Hollywood has a history of being liberal asswhipes. But are there any actors that embody 2A to their heart?
>Inb4 Operator Kianu

Brad Pitt bought Angelina Jolie a shooting range one time. I don't follow celebrity bullshit enough to really know though, desu. Movies are much better when you don't know what the political views of the actors are. Wahlberg seems reasonable, but who knows.

Hey guys, I just got a glock today but the safety wasn't on it? My glock is like the one in the pic but the safety is missing off of the slide. Has this happened to any of you? Did I just get played? Any help would be appreciated
>>32916196
>>32916196
Yeah you got meme'd, my dude.
Should have just bought a USP like a normal person.
Will a .380 center mass to the chest in light/normal clothing instantly put a (non drugged up) attacker down or not?
Let's cut the shit.
>>32916122
Maybe.
>>32916122
Under certain circumstances, definitely.
>>32916122
A .380 will do at an absolute minimum , 6 inches of penetration.

I want to buy my first pistol. I'm going to the range tomorrow. Tell me what 5 guns I should rent and shoot to make my decision.
>>32915856
what for? Range/home or carry or both? Any preferences like manual safety or no manual safety?
>>32915869
Preferably something that can be concealed yet still fun to shoot at the range. No preference on manualsafety.

Just watching this and the guy says 7.62x39 will not be enough for bears but a short while later he says .44 Magnum will. He cites the x39 lacking "energy":
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zPQiwzu1XvQ&t=4m28s
>7.62×39mm
>7.9 g (122 gr) FMJ 730.3 m/s (2,396ft/s) 2,108 J (1,555 ft·lbf)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/7.62%C3%9739mm
>.44 Magnum
>240 gr (16 g) SJHP Remington 1,180 ft/s (360 m/s) 741 ft·lbf (1,005 J)
You'll nee hot +P+ loads to get to x39 energy levels:
>340 gr (22 g) LFN +P+ Buffalo Bore Heavy 1,425 ft/s (434 m/s) 1,533 ft·lbf (2,078 J)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.44_Magnum
