I'll talk about the SDF/YPG near Raqqa. Would you have believed after IS blitzed Tabaqah airbase a few years ago the SDF would be the one's retaking it? It would have blown my mind back then.
IS hasn't had any counter attacks for them as SDF/US SF did a airborne op across the lake either. IS can't attempt to re take Tabaqah airbase. USAF bombers would blow them sky high if they tried to bum rush this open desert like they did the Saaf/SAA.

i wonder what the higher ups in IS are thinking right now...
Doubt it, simply because the Turks would be pissed.

Whatever happened to the ACR?
It feels like it fell off everyones collective memory of "future assault rifles" in bideo games.
It had a debut in Modern Warfare 2 and was present in all the games that came after it.
But now it fell out of prominence while the usual M4, SCAR, AK type rifles stay relevant.
What happened, was it really just a meme gun?
>>33486964
Are you talking about video games? Because this is the wrong board.
In real life the Masada was a cool gun that ended up being fucked by Bushmaster. It was released later than it was supposed to, for more than it was supposed to, and was missing several promised features.
>>33486964
>Remington fucked up
I really wanted to like this gun, but in typical Rem-shit fashion they tripped over their own dicks and never released the promised conversion kits.
>What happened, was it really just a meme gun?
In the end, yeah. It could have really been something, but shat the bed in all quarters.
-It cost more than a contemporary AR, in spite of one of its key selling points being very cheap manufacture process.
-Had major initial QC issues, which is the fault of shrubmaster and Cerberus rather than an issue with the design itself, but shit sticks and people dont forget
-No caliber options, which was the major appeal in a time before AR upper swaps were vogue. I remember the adverts, being able to pick up any ammo in the field and use it in the ACR, never eventuated to this day. Some third parties have taken a stab with mixed results, but its too little too late.
-Late. Years late.
As for why its not in video games, I thought it was in all the last few Ghost recon games as well as Battlefield 4?
What are your personal thoughts on shooting retreating troops?
waste of good bullets. Unless you're pursuing them why waste the time and energy when you need to hold the land you just took?
They are making the bullets bleed energy so when it hits it's not as painful.
theyre gonna run away, regroup and come back to shoot some more, might as well drop some of them unless ordered not too
How come Iraqui army required a large amount of American instructors to teach them how to operate American weaponry while ISIS seems to be able to operate whatever they capture without instructors?

>>33486593
1. Sunnis who were part of the Iraqi army were forcibly recruited and the Shias were executed when IS took over.
2. It's not hard to figure out how to use captured military equipment when you capture bases built to train troops for said equipment
The Iraqi army apparently left behind up to a dozen blackhawk helicopters at Mosul's airbase IS has yet to use or deploy them.
There's unverified footage of captured Syrian jets being flown by IS as well.
