If in a purely hypothetical scenario someone perhaps wanted to create an explosive device with cheap parts where and how would this hypothetical person in this hypothetical situation do such a thing?
Fart into a big balloon for a while and once its big enough run into a public place with it and untie it in front of a barbecue lighter for a cheap and effective flamethrower.

They'd shove 30lbs of fertilizer up their ass and jump off the nearest cliff.
Brilliant.

I'm thinking I may move to Florida.
Where should I live for cheap cost of living, being near the ocean and recreational activities, and good places for shooting?
Oh yeah, jobs too or whatever. Stupid adult shit.

I ended up getting a business degree and now working as a paper pusher. better than being out in the sun all day, though.

Remember that Remington has spent nearly 60 years covering up the fact that the Remington 700's trigger is prone to accidental discharges.

http://sc.cnbcfm.com/applications/cnbc.com/resources/editorialfiles/2012/05/03/2226703_Rem_Doc_02.pdf
>But as early as December 3, 1946, with the gun still in the testing stage, lead engineer Merle “Mike” Walker—who would later receive a patent for the 700 series’ firing mechanism—wrote a memowarning of a “theoretical unsafe condition” involving the gun’s safety; the mechanism that is supposed to keep the gun from firing accidentally.
>Four months later, in an April 9, 1947 memo entitled “M/721 Pilot Line Inspection,”Test Engineer Wayne Leek wrote, “This situation can be very dangerous from a safety and functional point of view.”
>Among other things, Leek noted, it was “possible to fire the gun by pushing the safety to the ‘off’ position.”
Remington's latest failures with the R51 and RP9 are just continuing the tradition of Remshit.

Didn't the accidental discharge kill rancher's kid?
>>33478755
probably killed the rancher's dog too
>>33478755
Remington denying it for all that time spread across millions of rifles means that there are a large amount of accidental discharges that weren't reported.
Got this what is it 'name' / 'style' and rough value. Needs sharpening.

Can anyone identify this AR receiver? A friend gifted it to me, and I just finished machining it. Now i'm looking to buy a matching upper for my build, but I can't figure out who made this fucking thing. Pic very much related.
>>33478557
it's an 80% lower, so good luck
nothing will "match"
>>33478601
surely whoever manufactured the 80% lower must manufacture an upper as well, right?
>>33478557
Just get any upper you want. There may be a color difference but unless you are being autistic about it, it won't matter. As long as it is at least milspec, it will function.
Anybody owned a gun that you needed to have, but the more you got to know it, the less you liked it? It's like scoring the hot chick, but then finding out she says "Warshington" and chews with her mouth open.
I had pic related and it was easily the most ergonomic pistol I've ever held. It was more accurate than my other striker-fired pistols if I really concentrated, and I think it looks better than most.
BUT.
>the beavertail rubs a hole in my hand after ~150 rds
>high-ish bore axis made follow-up shots slow and inaccurate compared to Glock
>full-size gun, only 15 rounds
>super high beavertail relief, but the trigger guard mag release means no undercut, and as such, awkward hand tilt in relation to trigger travel
>gun has a butthole
>slide action sounds like an old screendoor
>charging handles weren't an improvement over normal slide serrations, and just made the gun look pigfat from behind
>>33478539
I gave the CZ75 a shot but I don't like it. The slide and frame felt like teeth grinding together, the rubber grip was cheap, and the red dot for the safety fell the fuck off. Just felt cheap all around.
My glock. Bought a Glock 34 after fucking around with my friends and never grew to like it. It never fit in my hands comfortably and I would always be off my aim point to the left by an inch or two. Liked the cheap accessories and the aftermarket, but I shoot my other pistols way better.
Sig P226.
Way more muzzle flip than a heavy full size 9mm should ever have. Muh bore axis.
It's very accurate and fun to shoot otherwise so I'll hang on to it.
So I just bought a Makarov from SOG. What is the best way to clean it of cosmoline? I've heard that mineral spirits or hot water works well, but I don;t want to fuck up the blueing on it. Tips?
Also, to anyone else who bought a Mak from SOG: does it come with the black target grips as well as the bakelite grips?
>>33478174
Leave it in the sun. Wait. Wipe down.
Mineral spirits for the metal parts, leave it in the sun for the wood parts.
Get you a hand steamer, blast steam on each part and then the shit just wipes off with a paper towel
Hey /k/ I'd like to know your thoughts on DISCREET gun colours. I need a gun for hiking and I don't want to scare other hikers who don't use guns, I need the gun to be a colour that
A. Makes the gun look like a toy/not-gun (ie Dazzle) or
B. Make the gun not easily noticeable (ie Camo)
Take the gun below. To me it looks like a toy or air soft.
I've noticed that tan colour guns to my eye seem to blend with hiking surroundings and hiking clothing.
Back is obviously a no, too scary.
Wood+metal most people find not scary, but its the most classic cartoon identifiable "Gun" even more recognizable than black firearms.
Black*

I bought an M97 at a gun show last weekend for $350 dollars, it's the take down model in fair to good condition. I got the heat shield for it today. The problem is that the Bead Sight on the barrel won't allow me to put the heat shield on. Should I cut the Bead off since there's one on the shield? I don't think the heat shield has enough thickness for me to cut a groove for the Bead either. What do?
Can't you just unscrew the bead?
