WHERE DO I GET ONE MADE BEFORE 1897?
>mfw canadian and only pistol I can take anywhere
>>
>>33486434
I like the revolver a british gentelmen has in the wind and the lion.

Looks like a bulldog.
>>
>>33486599

Yeehaw cocksucker

Every time I look at a webley it's like but ugly and gorgeous are playing leap frog in my head.

Kinda just wanna see one with a longer cylinder and an underlug to flesh out the barrel profile a bit
>>
>>33486661
So very gaudy
>>
>>33486662
It looks fine to me

They were handed out for the last time for a Borneo tour in the mid 60s. I believe various police units (Hong Kong, the token armed forces in mainland UK) kept hold of them after the British Army ceased its use. I never qualified on one, as they were only issued to Officers, but I carried one in Borneo and later had my own in Oman which spent its entire life in the desk drawer.

To be frank, I didn't think much of it. It handled well and I was accurate enough with it, but I preferred an automatic if I was to use a handgun. It felt outdated even then.

Fair enough

A Webley is definitely on my list of handguns to buy, not sure if I want the .455 or the .38 - finding ammo in either caliber seems like it might be a real pain.

Either way, they're A E S T H E T I C as fuck.

I've got a folder with a bunch of weird Webley pics if anyone wants me to dump a few.
>>
>>33486749
How old are you?
>>
>>33486787
I see some on sale right now where the chambers have been faced off to accept 45 ACP and 38 special.
>>
>>33486804
73.

>>33486858
Wouldn't bother, even if they've been done professionally. .455 is hard to come by, but it's not impossible to find. If you are after one go for an original.

>>33486858
I'd rather have them in the original chambering, or have an original cylinder for period correctness.
>>
>>33486879
I'd honestly take the 45 ACP with moon clips, because that's one less calibre I have to stock.
>>
>>33486893
You would still need to stock another caliber anyways. The Webley cannot be fed regular 45. The pressure is far to high.
>>
>>33486434
>can barely handle smokeless powder
>bullets are all basically .45 caliber MiniƩ Balls with a hollow base

I mean it looks neat but it was dated as shit by WW1.
>>
>>33486893
Like the other guy said, you can't go stuffing .45ACP commercial ammo into a Webley because it'll put huge stress on the gun, it's all like 10000psi higher than what it can actually safely tolerate, the gun will blow up maybe even within one cylinder.

I've got my little jew one and I'm happy with it. I can still find .38 S&W without too much trouble

Considering it can't even handle 45acp and Taurus has managed to make an acceptable revolver in .454 i can't fathom how it could be best. The Colt SAA was better even with its shortcomings.

I have a 38 short and weak Webley. I just wish it could fit 38 special
