Charter Arms Undercover .38 Special with a 3' barrel. Serial number indicates Early 70's production. Grips are a bit loose, but a new grip screw could fix it.

Yeah, sure. Assuming that there is an O-ring that'll last long enough. And that it is strong enough to not break or some shit when full of ammo.

I am left-handed and right eye dominant.

Should I be shooting pistols with my right or left hand? I passed my ccw class shooting with my right hand, but I am naturally more comfortable holding my pistol with my left hand.

I shoot long guns right handed btw and it is a non issue

I'm no expert by any means, but I would suggest keeping your left hand as your draw/shooting hand and learning to PARTIALLY close your right eye when you perform your draw stroke. This will help your left eye take the lead, if you will, so that your natural point of aim will line up with your line of sight.

In my OPINION, your grip, draw stroke, and natural point of aim will always trump half a second's worth of visual attenuation to your sights. In fact, some instructors suggest shooting drills where you remove or cover your sights to practice what is called "kinesthetic shooting."

Finally if you think about it, a good chunk of self defense shooting training involves compression shooting, where you basically draw, index the bottom of the grip with the side of your body, outboard the gun, and "shoot from retention," which involves 100% your dominant hand and 0% your sights.

Check out the Sage Dynamics youtube channel, the guy is actually a lefty and gives out some really solid lessons on defensive shooting.

okay wow thanks /k/ommando! so basically don't even rely on my dominant eye like i would for a rifle and just use what is a natural draw for me?

when I practice draws with my left hand it always feels better obviously and the only difference is a couple degrees of rotation in my wrist to line the sights with my right eye.

I only worry about it because ive heard that my eye/wrist/arm should always be perfectly aligned, and wasnt sure if it was a big issue.

How were new soldiers trained prior to wwi? I don't imagine they could have shipped them all to ft. Benning. So were units trained at the nearest base as a group? We're they entered into the barracks with the rest of soldiers immediately and expected to learn drill as they went? I'm curious has to how this worked.

What is a militia for $200 Alex?
>>
>>33482986
Depends on the place.
Guns are decently expensive.
>>
>>33482782
A body of soldiers would be raised and enlisted, then set to a safe camp or fortress where they would spend 6 to 12 weeks training and learning to march, handle weapons, basic military discipline, signals, ect.

>>33482986
Milita typically met monthly or so and trained for a day at a time. They were generally considered unreliable, and in the revolutionary war typically managed a single volley before abandoning the field.

They are going to ask a lot of questions about your medical and psychological history.

Even the smallest thing can disqualify you from service, although they can't really look at your history without permission, if you try to hide something from them and they find it you will be disqualified from service.

t. 18 year old and just talked to a recruiter yesterday.

Ok so I built an AR about 10 months ago with a DelTon upper and parts kit and a CMMG lower. Well the two rattle around without a mag inserted.

I want to build another rifle but want to avoid that issue this time around. Any decent tips for an AR novice.

disgusting. Google around for parts and watch youtube tutorials on how to build gayr15s. Sootch and ir8888 has pretty decent videos on them despite the channels themselves being relatively uninformitive.
>/arg/ is bad hurdud
honestly, as insufferable as some of the trips are (looking at you giddy), they actually recommend some the best gears available on the market and for good reason. I won't blame you for wanting to avoid it but they hold some merits. /akg/ is the one you want to avoid completely, as it offers absolutely nothing and consist purely of trips attention posting
>>
>>33481653
Yea no....
Try again, if that were the case then every single AR I have handled besides the one I built, would all have been built "wrong" including factory and home built.

>tripfags
Not surprised really...
