This is a long shot, but it was probably hands down the best skinwalker story I've ever read.
It was a quite a while ago, probably 2012-2013, I don't remember much of it.

Something about people driving to a party in the desert, and driving by someone walking through the desert dozens of miles from civilization or something, and towards the end of the party, when four (ish) friends drive home afterwards, one is really quiet. And they drop if off at home or something, then the next day the friend asks why they left him at the party and he had to get a ride back with someone else

Or something.
It has bothered me every skinwalker thread, i've only seen it a handful of times around 2012-2013, and never saved it.

Hey, same retard from the last couple threads,
been wondering how to start the movie. I always planned on an ATF raid intro, but wonder if the Skinwalker shit later would be jarring, as most action horror films I see start with something horror/monster related to set the mood and not jar audiences (Dog Soldiers for example). Like, I see people bitch about Event Horizon suddenly "switching genres",
but I also see people praise From Dusk Till Dawn for the same shit.

Also, what does /k/ think a Skinwalker's primary means of killing would be?
I know it's sapient, super smart etc., and I'm going for a Wendigo-like appearance, deer horns, bipedal, dog-like face etc.,
but would claws even be a thing for a Skinwalker? They seem more mystic. I can imagine it using them for surprise attacks, though. Like, picking people off.

Not skinwalker but weird innawoods story that older gentleman from my church told me. We'll call him Bob.
>Idaho. Fucking Idaho.
>Bob out hiking deep in the mountains because he loves to hike
>Hike into clear valley, see three men with guns on the mountain on one side of the valley
>Figures they are hunters
>Realizes he isnt wearing hunter's orange so he takes his hat off and waves his arms at them trying to let them know he is there
>The guys shoulder their rifles and one guy takes a shot at him
>Bob says he hears the bullet whip by like a foot away from his ear
>Stunned and confused Bob stands there like a deer in the headlighta
>Finally turns around and bolts
>The guys get a few more shots off on him as he makes it into the woods
>Runs all the way back to his car parked miles away.

For those of you not familiar with Idaho we have stretches of forest and mountain in the middle of FUCK NOWHERE, forest rangers/hunters find bodies and remains every year hidden in all sorts of places, most of which have been dead for years.

I wouldnt have believed this story if it was anyone but Bob telling it. He's the kind of guy who would and has driven 30 minutes back to a convenience store because he was given an extra 5 cents in change.

You don't need to show very much of your monster at all to make it scary.

You ever seen VHS 2? Long shot, kind of an obscure thing, but I'll use it as an example. There's this one scene where they're in this big cult building, some shady shit starts going down, they start looking for a way out, then the camera moves over this bipedal goat man looking motherfucker. You get just a split second glimpse of him and it's scary, you get chills, you jump right along with the characters in the movie as they realize they need to turn their "maybe we should go" attitude into a "LITERALLY ANY WAY TO LEAVE THIS BUILDING IS FINE RUN!!!!!"

Then they totally ruin that whole effect by showing you a shot of pic related. You get a nice close up of the goat demon's face and see the cheesy garbage and shitty animatronics that went into making it, and the entire effect is ruined.

Not enough time passes between these threads. /x/ has spoop threads all the time and they get some OC, but it's mostly shit like "dude I got super high and then drove with my friend and we passed the same house twice WOOOAHGHGHHHG!!!" and so on. /k/ produces quality stories because we actually do go hiking/camping and don't get high (usually). But, when we have one of these threads every week, there isn't much OC because people just dump old stories to keep the thread alive. Others either don't see the threads or just want to read the pictures and forget their own stories.

I think we need to limit these threads to once or twice a year. Sometime in fall and sometime in spring, when most of us have gotten some sort of break from work or school and might have actually had a spoopy experience. (for example, students get the summer off, so by fall any students here who had a spook story could tell it. people who work tend to take vacations during summer too. students also get off some in the winter, and so when spring rolls around they might have a story).

I also think /out/ might be a good place for one of these threads. They're a little more likely than /k/ to use drugs outdoors, but they do go deep innawoods (and tend not to be armed, for what it's worth). There is some overlap between /k/ and /out/, but not every who frequents /out/ comes here to goes to /x/.

Just my opinion on the matter.
