The 1911 should have been in .40 caliber all along.

(but if it hadn't started in .45 the capacity would probably have been even lower and the .40cal cartridge JMB was working with would probably be outperformed by .40S&W)

mfw I have an early production, blued Delta Elite with extra Wilson magazines. Just like the pic.

However, .40 Short and Weak was designed for small men, and women in LE. It's 10mm shortened and weakened.

I'm looking to get a good knife for taking on my outdoor adventures, are Ka-Bars worth there price point? Another knife I was thinking about was maybe the Ontario Air Force survival knife. All advice/tips are appreciated!

Do not try to to split logs with a knife,
use Machete or Hatchet to do that, or a old school military shovel.

What is the minimum amount of money that is necessary to make an AR that is just really fucking accurate?
is it achievable for less than $800?
I'm not talking sub-moa or any shit like that but maybe someone could also add additional costs to achieve sub-moa.
I'm going to part out my first AR and already have my 80% milled out.
I'm an AK guy and never really taken the time to look into ARs.

However much money it takes for you to either find a factory load your rifle likes or for you to cook up a pet load.

This is a chrome lined Colt 14.5" SOCOM profile barrel.
>>
>>33562250
This mostly.

If you want some tiny accuracy gains then install a free float system on a medium or heavy barrel.
>>
>>33562224
The only thing you need is to change the barrel to stainless steel and find a floating barrel upper

Bushmaster 90940.jpg

So /k/ I had a question on how to attach a rifle scope to a Bushmaster XM-15 M4 A3 rifle (order number 90940 for the type) pic. is it. So I have a new rifle scope, including the rings etc for it, that I want to put on it in place of the red dot with no magnification scope, that came with it. The problem is that the front sight sticks up in the way. There doesn't seem to be any way to remove it, other than changing the upper, i that correct? If so, are my choices then either hacksaw off the post, or spend a bunch of money on a new upper? This is on a new un-fired gun, that has sat in the box since being purchased a couple of years ago, so has no wear and tear on the barrel already. If I go the hacksaw route, do I just spray paint the shiny spots with some flat black gas grill paint, or would there be something else better to put on it.

No this isn't bait, serious question. Am new to AR-15's, and trying to get it set up to shoot.

Thanks for any help/advice /k/ can offer.

This is bait.

Learn to use the irons first.
They make scope rings that are raised for it.
Use goggles.
>>
>>33561578
>Option 1
>buy rings to actually put the scope at eye level and the front sight will just be a barely noticeable shadow at low power

>Option 2
>hacksaw the front sight post and now the stock is too high for proper cheek rest, you'll be looking through the top half of the scope
>>
>>33562303
Thanks. Any suggestion of something better than grill paint for covering over the cut marks? Is the only thing can think of that's higher heat and a full black.

Realistically, how would you defend a small town that would be largely isolated from outside assistance in the African countryside of Namibia?

Mind you, the firearm laws while being "permissive" to Africa, are "restrictive" by American standards.

>Semi Auto and Automatic rifles are prohibited
>shotguns, bolt action, and pistols are fine
>each individual is limited to 4 firearm permits
>no limit on ammunition

What would be the best load out for the average farmer/towns person? 2 rifles, 1 shotgun, 1 handgun?

>>
>>33561316
1 rifle, 1 shotgun, 2 handguns.

Specifically the handguns will be one full sized and one concealed carry, whether you're allowed to or not since Africa is fucked, but in case you need to do anything worth a long trip to civilization. This way you're always armed.

Bolt actions would have to be, could supplement with lever actions but, you know.
>>
>>33561316
How do they define semi auto?
If its british standards where you can have a straight pull semi auto that trips the bolt release with a trigger reset then youre fine.

Otherwise:
Glock with 33 round mags (maybe a roni stock if thats kosher)
Mossberg MVP/Other detachable mag 308
>>
>>33561357
The gun laws are a bit vague as most of Africa adopted the same Firearm Laws in 1996 as encouraged by the UN. I do not know for certain if lever action are permitted though if so that would a good alternative as well.

I don't recall conceal carry laws, though I believe firearm permit holders may open carry outside of federal buildings in Namibia.

>>33561363
>How do they define semi auto?

It's rather vague as they use the term "weapons of war." The few online photos of gun stores in Namibia contain Hunting Rifles, Shotguns, and pistols. Granted Big Game hunting is the main reason for firearm ownership so that may be the reason other rifles are less common, though it does seem that anything resembling an AR or AK is prohibited.

IIRC the Semi-auto ban only applies to long guns, not handguns.

Nuclear weapons are an environmental issue.

You're not allowed to open a tattoo parlor and make tattoos with mercury amalgam. You're not allowed to print newspapers with lead ink.

Are these infringements on the First amendment? No. They have nothing to do with the first amendment. They're environmental issues.

You can own all the bombs you'd like under the NFA even at present. You can detonate them and contain them to the limits of your property. In contrast, you don't get any fissile material without approval (plenty of private labs do get permission, but it's not a right). Consistent, as fissile material is huge environmental hazard.

You can't shoot lead into or over waterways both for safety and pollution reasons. One uses steel and copper shot for fowl hunting over water. Is this an infringement on the Second Amendment? Again, no.

On the other hand, if you ban lead, not only would the environmental reasoning be specious, but it would be like banning ink, and would be an infringement.

10/10 bretty gud
But antis won't get it because they base all their opinions on feelings rather than logic, You'd have better luck going "but muh minorities need nukes to protect themselves from whitey"
>>
>>33561255
>You're not allowed to print newspapers with lead ink
>Also we're not going to let you shoot lead bullets either
>it's an environmental issue you see
>>
>>33561255
The best argument to that is "sure, let people have nukes. Let them buy all the nukes the government is willing to sell them."

Protip, that number is zero.
