I'm looking to get a good knife for taking on my outdoor adventures, are Ka-Bars worth there price point? Another knife I was thinking about was maybe the Ontario Air Force survival knife. All advice/tips are appreciated!

Had a ka bar for the last five years and personally I think it's done fantastically. Just don't try to split logs with it like a troglodyte.

Do not try to to split logs with a knife,
use Machete or Hatchet to do that, or a old school military shovel.
I have an Ontario blackbird for outdoor use. Took some dudes advice on here and put a divot in the handle for starting a fire with a bow/drill, but still have never succeeded in actually doing it.

try this one

use a Mora 748 knife to practice how to use a knife. Cheap and easy to control.

I've heard ka-bars are quality I wasn't sure if that was just hype or not though

Yes. They are pretty well priced imo. You get a lot of knife for your money, but wearing it vertically anywhere makes you look retardo. Wear it scout style (on your belt behind your back) if you want to be legit.
>t. have full size leather kabar and synthetic kabar short
Don't do stupid shit with it like prying with only the point or baton wood while pretending it is a hatchet and you'll be fine.

I second getting a Mora. They are good cheap knives that can take a beating.
Also they come razor sharp.
Ive used mine to baton thru some logs to make kindling one time and all it dod was put one knick in the blade.
I've been looking close at the Ferber strong arm. Anyone try that yet?

Gerber, and autocorrect sucks.

Knife is not made for Batoning wood.
Use hatchet or machete.
You need both a axe/machete and a knife .

Do they have a legit full tang?

This. Easiest way to break your knife.
Hatchets are also really versatile.
