The 1911 should have been in .40 caliber all along.
(but if it hadn't started in .45 the capacity would probably have been even lower and the .40cal cartridge JMB was working with would probably be outperformed by .40S&W)

Are you serious OP?

mfw I have an early production, blued Delta Elite with extra Wilson magazines. Just like the pic.
However, .40 Short and Weak was designed for small men, and women in LE. It's 10mm shortened and weakened.

OG blued Delta is one of my grail guns
Probably gonna pick up the 2016 models to break up and cannibalize with an 80% reciver.that way I can do a ramped frame/FS barrel on the Delta slide and use the frame for milder shit. Or a 7.62x25
Also .38-40 was a thing in JMBs day. Idk about him making a .40, but the 1911 definitely wouldn't have been a .45 if that weren't in the requests

There's supposed to be a Delta Elite Rail Gun coming out soon.

Already out bru. I mean, I dunno if they're actually on shelves yet, but Colt rolled them out a while ago.

> the 1911 should have been chambered in a clown caliber created 80 years after its adoption
now if you mean 10mm as your picture suggests, I'm not against that at all, but at the time of army trials, the military demanded not less than .45 in response to some .38 cal round doing poorly against savages
