Better than Nodak, some discussion about whether or not they're better than Recreator. 74U LLC shits on all of them, but is two to three times the price and has a lead time measured in years.

All. They have proper stampings for the pins, selector notches and markings, and markings for receiver. Best equality receivers you can get, but like other anon said, very expensive(but worth every penny) and your going to wait literally a year or more to get it.

Look at the two rifles and it's pretty obvious that the gas port is much closer to the receiver on the 104UR. The gas tube is like 2 inches shorter. But why? You're talking about making an abomination when you could just buy a 104UR.

Autistic level of detail. Each receiver is individually made and heat treated by a guy with extensive experience working in sheet metal, with things like spot weld size and shape being done specific to the year and make of the receiver ordered since he has a ton of old receiver stubs from damn near everyone that he can and will pull out to use for reference.

For example: if you order a Tula AKM and an Izzy AKM receiver, the Tula's spot welds will be slightly larger just like they would be on the real deal, and each will have the factory-correct selector notch and marking size and placement.

Polymer will weigh less, and is less susceptible to rot than wood. Quality polymer furniture should come with heat shield in the lower hand guard, which will help keep you from burning your hand. And you can find polymer butt stocks in NATO lop if you need longer. Aesthetics for some, polymer over wood, vice versa.

I'm guessing it's the spring pictured here, it basically pushes the legs out and keeps them open. You could probably find/modify a spring to fit and work if you can't find a legit RPK spring. Maybe a 1911 20 lb recoil spring would work? I don't know, just a guess.

It looks like the spring just fits in, there are no nubs holding it in place.

The spring will not fix that, the spring has to do with the deployment of the legs when the clip is undone. The bipod on my AES-10B does the same, my current fix is a piece of wire by the leg retainer clip.

No, it's a little harder than that. Yours looks like mine so you will have to completely remove the front sight block in order to remove the bipod. Depending on how tight the fsb is on, it will take either a rubber mallet or a press to get it off.

Does it have an original barrel? I'm guessing it's a Romanian kit. It would not have been hard to find a spring to fix the original problem, the swaying bipod is something you could live with I'm sure.

>missing the top rear trunnion rivet on that side
Good luck with it.

>>33567105
It will work but the description states that it has been shimmed so you will probably need to remove the excess metal. You either will have to remove the fsb to get your old bipod off or cut it off. The linked bipod can be put on without removing the fsb.

Because it probably wasn't Assad, it was probably one of his dipshit generals.

More interesting is that there's evidence now -accidentally provided by the Russians via RIA Novosti, no less - that suggest that Assad did hand over his chemical weapons...and then the Russians gave him some of theirs to replace them.

This photo was taken today and published by RIA Novosti here: http://rusvesna.su/news/1491566548

What you're seeing in the foreground are Russian chemical weapons containers. Compare them to the photo on this story from a pro-Russian rebel media outlet covering Russia's supposed destruction of their chemical weapons stockpiles: http://e-news.su/in-russia/79274-himicheskoe-oruzhie-v-rossii-zapasy-rossii-konvenciya-o-himoruzhii-ssha-i-rossiya-himicheskoe-oruzhie.html

This is legit. This isn't a false flag, because false flags don't have to happen 4 times before the people committing them take the actions the event would supposedly give them reason to do.

Someone suggested it serves the purpose of displaying to the dems/MSM that he isn't being remote controlled by the Kremlin as we've been hearing.

I am waiting to see his first meeting with Putin, should give us a better idea of what he's going for.

I foresee at least an attempt at a grand deal on the Syrian question involving the ease of US sanctions on Russia.

But if this is all just the result of neocons wormtongue-ing his ear it will be a huge blackpill. Watch Bannon. If he gets the boot, it's over.

Not like I've got much a choice ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Maybe after I get done with my 6.5 Grendel M4 and my tacticool FAL I'll start trying to hunt down .300 Blk AK barrels, I remember we talked a lot about it before and the actual build seemed easy enough, cut down a polymer UHG, meddle with an FSGB to fit a normal lhg and probably an AKSU sized upper tube

I wonder if making a fake suppressor that looks like the real deal would put it at 16 inches, then it wouldn't even need to be made as a pistol then SBRed
>>
>>33573069
Think ak builder had .300 blk barrels but it's probably better to start from a blank gas port wise.

Or give it an anteater barrel and cut off eventually.
>>
what do ya label the mags as?
>>
>>33573090
Aren't those barrels horrendously overgassed though? I'd probably let it start life as a pistol then just drill out a tack weld to put on a stock if I'm gonna put all that time into it, much easier

Also I'm 99% sure the AK9 suppressor is at least based off the PBS-1 and looking up the dimensions of those it'd bring it to about a 14 inch barrel length, so I guess that's a nogo. Gives me more time to put it off since I'm fuckin broke anyways

Sonuva bitch someone actually made a real one already

Wrong handguard tho. Also confirms my suspicion that the lower handguards aren't replaceable on these, at least very easily http://www.red-alliance.net/forum/index.php?action=printpage;topic=27365.0

It's a sign

If you check the link on the AK9 build I just posted there's some Euro site that has accurate looking clones of the suppressor, I just got done reading the custom work he did and it definitely doesn't seem like an insanely hard project, expensive though

I spent like 15 minutes watching Vicker's video on it and just tapping frame by frame to get some good view on it, it definitely looks like it's perma attached to the gas block

One thing I noticed is that there's no detent pin like on a normal combo block, so it guess it must be a completely new part rather than a modified FSGB. You can see it from both sides in the vid. Also reading about it from some other places they talk about it like it's an integrally suppressed rifle, so I'm kinda curious of not only is the lower handguard permanently attached, what if the suppressor is too to compensate for the lack of detent? I can't find any pics with an AK9 that doesn't have a suppressor on it as well

Another pic, there's a gap between the handguard cap and the gas black so the way the Russians tacked it all together seems interesting as fuck, sorta like the gas block could be shrouded by the handguard and the front sight is an extension over the handguard cap rather than just straight integrated into the gas block?

If that makes any sense from me at 5am

What's the going rate for a commercial Maadi stock? Doctor didn't realize that levalbuterol is like half the price of albuterol and does the same fucking thing and I didn't catch it until after I picked up my prescription, so now I'm unnecessarily hurting for cash.
>>
>>33573725
>>33573746
It's definitely a special fsgb, on your second picture it looks almost like a detent?

Maybe the cap isn't welded on but held on by some kind of nut on the front.

I have a picture of what looks like a real AK9 without the suppressor think I had almost a quick attach looking thing on the end. (I'll find it when I get home)
>>
>>33573804
>Maybe the cap isn't welded on but held on by some kind of nut on the front.
This would make sense, the handguard cap looks like a separate piece, and especially since that fuckhueg pin seems to recess all the way into the block, and it's offset pretty far. I would think there's be another place it has to be connected to though, a bolt like that would be sturdy but it'd leave room for it to wiggle on the opposite diagonal

Or maybe it's just some of that "good enough" Russian engineering. Small sidenote too I personally find the 204 serial number on the BCG interesting cause it means they're at least not a bunch of oneoffs with custom parts, someone has to be making dedicated parts at this point I would think. It has been like a decade since they started tho which coulda also mean it's scrapped being a relatively low serial too

Well shit look at that

Izmash has to at least have the molds constantly going for the handguards, it seems like more and more are showing up everywhere

Also I guess the suppressor works off a QD type mount then, since that barrel doesn't look to have any threads. It'd explain the cutout and what looks like a lever in >>33573725 not like KAC hasn't had that tech for a longass time now anyways

>>33574016
One thing that seems sorta neat is this would imply they thought of the optic positioning in the really early trials, cause it sits in the same forward position that the current AK9s have them at

Someone somewhere has to have one of those rails, whether it's in the US or not, cause there's no way the Russians would sacrifice being able to put a red dot sight in a normal position, I would think

I'm actually surprised we haven't seen them all over. Brb writing a guy

Upper looks like a standard one, never understood why they don't have the lever.

>>33574033
DESU it looks more usable on the AK9
>>
>>33574062
Upper is like an inch and some shorter, and under the metal bit they look tapered which would make me think these are molded specially for the AK9

PSO definitely looks like it's nicer on the AK9 though, with the tradeoff of not being able to use irons under it. I'll take a pic at some point if I can capture it but using one on a normal AK is definitely a pain since you don't really have a weld at all, you're basically hovering just off the stock to be able to look through the optic, makes it feel more like a spotting scope than a quick acquisition target shooting scope. Looks like the AK9 still keeps the offset though, which is probably a good thing since it'd absolutely fuck with zeroing
>>
>>33574080
I just pulled mine out again and I guess I should back pedal a bit on the no chin weld, cause I can get one (barely) but just the sorta awkward positioning puts a cramp on the back of my neck damn quick. Of course I don't have my GP-25 pad on since it's in the box of shit that needs to go to the insurance people, and it's a bit more forgiving when you have that on

I'm gonna try to catch a nap since I still have work to do tomorrow

Nice. Glad your countrymen could finally remember you guys.
Sorry it had to take the US market being banned for it to happen, though.

So you're proficient with a 12 gauge then?

Is it the Saiga 12 with the magwell similar to the Vepr 12?

As long as Izhmash lost their biggest market in the face of US, those Saigas become rarely even here, they making them for ~500 per 2 months, everybody get fucked.

They are, I was referring to the features.
Mostly it's the magwell, as standard Saiga 12s are rock and lock like other AKs.
Some 030s have the SVDS folding stock too, so that's another feature Veprs lack.
