Best .22 pistol for sports shooting on a budget?
Looking for something with a largish grip.

Buck. Mark.

huh?
>>33563513
browning buckmark, friendo. fairly well regarded target shooter.
>>33563548
thanks i'll take a look

I've owned both and I'll second this.
The ruger 22/45 and MK 3 can be had fairly cheap but the field strip is fucking retarded. The design of the 22/45 magazines absolute shit as well. The gun should have been recalled, honestly.

mark iv is the answer

>mark iv is the answer
They are far easier to strip. I checked out 2 target models at a local sgs and the triggers were pretty bad. Too heavy, very creepy (picture most /k/ommandos) and lots of overtravel. That combined all the trouble I've had / seen with my 22/45 were enough to keep me from buying one.

Hamden High Standard

Off topic, but the opening image reminded me
What's the common /k/ opinion on .22 Berettas? I own an antique 74 and it's reliable and still working wonderfully as a plinker. I've tried several 87 and 89 and found them superior to any Ruger, and the price for an Euro is almost comparable.

$80 magazines that need to be fucked with (sometimes for hours on end) to make them feed. Most scumbags will even pull the original mag before selling the pistol, so you're often fucked from the start.
I really tried to love my high standard, but their time has passed.
What do you all think of the Beretta Neos?

I've owned a 950 with the long barrel, a 21, and an 87bb with the long barrel. Sold the first two to fund other projects but will never sell the 87. The minx shot great, the 21 did not. The 87 is my favorite pistol to shoot. All in all I love Beretta rimfire pistols. Except for the neos, that thing is an abomination.
Check out:
Browning Buckmark
Ruger MkIV
Hammerli X-Esse / Sig Trailside
S&W Model 41
Beretta 87 Target
CZ75 Kadet
Stay the fuck away from:
Sig Mosquito
Walther P22
Most "1911" knockoffs

Not better than a Buckmark.
>>33565052
I love my Beretta 87 Target although I have no love for large cal Berettas. Except maybe a 93R, but that's cheating.
Goddamn I love Berettas.
The Margolin pistols are pretty damn good. A modified version was actually banned from the Olympics for giving people an "unfair advantage". They basically just turned the action upside-down so that the bore axis was in-line with the wrist.

Dat robocop aesthetic. When I start building my collection back up, the 87 target is high up on the list.
>>33564982
It's pretty much the best semi auto .22lr at that price point brand new. Found mine for $200, but some of the design decisions are questionable and the aesthetics aren't for everyone. If you can spare a little extra cash, spring for a buckmark.

Guys I need to know, with the Mark IV, what does the bolt ride on ?
Is it contained only within the upper receiver ?
Is there no movement on the frame ?
Would one technically be able to use it forever by simply replacing the upper and possibly trigger group ?
Can you replace the barrel yourself, and if so, are there any good aftermarket barrels yet ?
>>33564982
neos are pretty mediocre and the sights suck
its going to be better than some shit replica like a 22lr 1911, or p22 but still worse than a buckmark or ruger
only get it if you really like the spacegun looks
>>33565376
Pity they're so overpriced here. Sanctions, goddammit.

My gun club has one but it's pitted to shit, they just have it marked as "USSR". Never shot it because I'm left handed, but I'm fairly certain it does get used by some shooters.

>CZ75 Kadet
these are nice but overpriced as hell and you need a PCR on top of it
