What would be the best way to clean this up? Not looking to get bullied about the condition.
>>33575329
Dremel grinding wheels and sand paper to remove the old finish and damage. Then blue it.
>>33575329
Strip the finish and blue it, or have someone nickel plate it.
Or if you want to go FUCK IT and maybe cerakote it (which can had in a faux blue).
It's rough, but it absolutely looks like it can be salvaged, at least from the outside.
Out of interest, where'd you find it, I assume it was in that condition when you discovered it?
Check if it's loaded, then take a picture of the inside of the barrel with a light shining down into it, I want to see the condition of the bore.
>>33575500
I got it from a pawn shop for $150. Standby for pic
Will they bring back battleships now that cruise missiles are confirmed duds?
With railguns ofc.
>>33575247
Are you stupid or just dumb?
>>33575247
>bring back a ship that the turrets can be penetrated by a Rockeye Mk II cluster bomb, let alone every single ATGM in existance.
Oh good, we haven't had one of these threads in a while.
What gun companies have taken you for a ride
Colt (aka interarms) """quality"""
Left: 1916
Right: 2017
Somehow they got worse at making plastic grips over 100 years, didn't even get their own logo right, and the mounting hardware doesn't fit. Paid $40 for this shit.
>>33575231
Other side, same shit. Look at how in the lower left hand corner of the new grip (the one on the gun) the checkering just disappears. The mounting nut sticks out of the grip on this side too.
I'm reminded of an old Jaffa saying "They do not build them as they once did"
Going to have to get a set of 20th century replacement grips.
Cause Colt stopped giving fuck about Civie market since WWI.
After that and many company buy outs, they became shadier and shittier as the corporations who own the Colt name believe that the name alone sells the price of the product, not the quality.
It's the same thing that's happening to Remington. When the Chinese copies of their platforms perform better than their current production, it shows that they're pricing on the name alone.
Is 6.5x25 CBJ the cartridge of the future? It has a flatter trajectory than 5.56, fantastic AP capability, and looks like it performs quite well in gel tests. The guys who made it think it could replace 556 entirely as a new NATO standard.
>>33575223
Here's the trajectory chart.
I have an AR-15 chambered in it. Feels pretty good to shoot and can allegedly be used for anything up to deer hunting, though they're a little hard to come by so 5.56 is still the easier choice for now.
politics not logic determines what the military uses.

All you have is a boombox, your rifle, your handgun, and your skills.
What skills do you show off? What plays on your boombox? Do they let you in or will they be unimpressed?
>>33575196
Make an ayy eee dee out of my Glock (by throwing it basically). Sell my rifle and boombox for more coke and roids for my oper8tor bros.

Is the Silencerco Maxim 9 going to be a good gun?
>>33574653
Why not?
>>33574658
Dumb. And women.
Thoughts on triple barreled shotguns?
Ausfag here where it's pretty much impossible to get a semi-auto or pump action. Thinking of getting an Akkar 3. Is it just a meme?
If you got the cash for it, sure.
If not, it's not worth saving up for exclusively for utility. It's a novelty more over than a tool.
Two barrels are lighter and get the job done.
Ausfailia is a meme
>>33574581
Its fun to shoot, thats about it. If you have the cash go for it if you want utility just buy a pump and if you want somewhere in between over and unders are neat and you can shoot clays with them.
I bought my P89 about a month ago and I enjoy it. First pistol I shot was a P90 (.45 version) and it actually handled pretty well.
What's your opinion on the steel tank?
Bamp
>>33574553
A bit chunky and a bit heavy, but they're very dependable and solid, damn shame Ruger stopped making them because they're a pretty good budget gun, them boys know how to investment cast.
If you're interested you can some day look at getting some MecGar magazines for the thing, it'll give you flush fitting 17rd capacity like a Glock, very high quality (though they'll cost some).
Another thing to look at one day is maybe an old Ruger PC9, it's a 9mm carbine taking P80/P90 series magazines and which balances very nicely, can be a very fun plinker and decent short range small game gun.
>>33574553
>What's your opinion on the Ruger P-series?
Like all thicc things. Under rated. Forgotten. But will provide you with hours of joy if you let it.
Why was there never any mention of the Seal Team that got shot up in BHD?
>>33574539
>MUH ELITE FROGMEN
>>33574539
IIRC they were rooftop snipers for the initial raid. I don't know what happened to them after shit hit the fan.
>>33574636
The were shot up in a "cutvee". The driver got his foot blown off and only realized after his shin bone hit the gas pedal to speed up.
The high altitude strategic bomber is a coward's weapon. Real men use guns.
>>33574458
>still using a projectile weapon
Peasant.
>>33574458
Too bad you're not allowed guns.
No one has ever accused an Airfag of being brave. They have their place.
/k/, tell me about the Metal Storm. While it's seems like a cool and interesting design, outside of 'Future Guns' shows, I've seen no mention of them. Why is that? It seems a good base design, and the videos that show it's use date back to 2008 on youtube, so it's not like it's a really new system. Why is it so unknown?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d8hlj4EbdsE
MORE DAKKA is kind of a Russian meme, no?
>>33574195
Can't reload in field, only swap barrels. Reloading barrels must be done at a special facility.
Different barrel lengths for the different rounds in the barrel causing differences in accuracy due to changes in velocity.
There is zero need for a 1 million rpm system.
At the end of the day though it really does nothing that conventional firearms don't already do except for that semi-judge dredd pistol they made with the rotating barrel for different ammo. (non-lethal, stun, lethal).
It would be interesting to see it's application to disposable drone's though as the technology continues to mature. Mount them like bottle rockets on smaller drones.
>>33574195
They never found a proper solution to reload the guns fast enough after firing.
Also, there are not that many real world applications for a system like Metal Storm.
So as a guy who never carried self-defense weapons I'm planning to start doing it because I live in a shithole, guns aren't allowed here so I'm stuck with knives, what kind of knife is reliable, basic knife for a first timer?
moving from the shithole is always the best option
>>33574002
A fixed blade. Sturdier than the strongest locks, faster to deploy than the fastest mechanisms.
I'd prefer something with a little more reach though, like a cane.
Of course all of it means shit without training.
Pepper spray or a sturdy stick is less likely to get you dead if it slips from your hand and gets picked up by someone that isn't you or you swing wildly and hit yourself.
Start carrying a nice wooden cane like anon suggested or learn to use pepper spray.
Squad if free to play during weekend. Check it out guys.
http://store.steampowered.com/app/393380/
I have tried it.
Looks ok but there's lots of things that still need to improve.
Arma still has an edge over this in most aspects imho, the one thing it has going for itself is how fluid the firefights are, there's no stuttering and the weapons feel nice when in close quarters battled.
But yeah, lots of stuff still need to be addressed, weapon resting and stance control in arma is eons ahead of this.

>>33573823
Mausier NSb in .26 AMP
>>33573823
Glock 17
>>33573823
Glock 42. It's made of plastic so you can sneak it on an airplane, and has no recoil because it's .380, not to mention its ghost gun features like no safety and easy to change clips.
