Hey, y'all, I don't know my ass from a hole in the ground regarding guns, but I have a question.

What is the best shotgun? Video games would have me believe it's the SPAS-12, but they also told me for years that the Desert Eagle was the best handgun, and we all know that's a damn lie.

deagles a better handgun than that is a shotgun

the best shotgun is a pardner pump in 12 gauge. or a mossberg88 idgaf

There is no "best". There are just a variety that serve different purposes better than others.

Recently I decided to go innawoods for the first time since I was a kid, but i'm having trouble coming up with anything I would want to do out there. I'm not one for walking around the woods aimlessly just to do buttfuck nothing.

What do you guys here on /k/ personally do when finding yourself in nature? Any activities you can recommend to someone who hasn't spent any prolonged time outside in years?

All I have is a shitty pellet gun and an old .22 if that makes any difference.

>go practice archery
>practice guns
>practice making fire with bow drill or other means
>have a very tiny fire (but leave no trace)
>learn to identify trees and their different medicinal or edible properties.
>learn to identify plants in the same manner
>hike a few miles to test your ruck sack
>stay a few nights and test your bugout bag (learn what you need and dont)
>meditate
>hunt small game when its in season.
>practice skills like making rope
>breath air thats not your undusted for 5 years basement bedroom
>fucking hang out.
>practice flint knapping with a couple of deer antlers you found.
>pick up garbage you find

"but i'm having trouble coming up with anything I would want to do out there. I'm not one for walking around the woods aimlessly just to do buttfuck nothing. " you can still be constructive when doing nothing
try doing some stalker challenges. build a fort and sleep in it or something.

Anything you can do in your house...you can do outside. get a backpack and learn to enjoy turning your brain off. not everything has to be super stimulating. this is why people think modern children have adhd.

OP i should also state i have more fun sometimes with a pellet gun just becasue sometimes you wanna shoot stuff. but dont wanna alert others with noise and its a cheaper option than .22lr to learn shooting. I own a good beeman nitro piston and ive taken more squirrels with it than my .22lr. just because i like to be extremely quiet in the woods.

Dear /k/,

I come to you asking your advice on reputable/quality sellers of knives/daggers/stilettos for self defense.

I am just wondering what brands are generally considered good manufacturers, so that I can start looking around.

Thanks.

>>

No that is fucking stupid for multitudes of reasons. First of all, if you stab someone unarmed you WILL go to jail. If you stab someone who has a knife, he will stab you back. You will both die, but the winner gets to die in the street, the loser in an ambulance.

If you knew what you were doing I'd be willing to help but then you wouldn't be asking this question either. I'm not saying this to be mean, but your post just reeks of bad ideas.

Im getting mixed reports on the effects of bi-metal jacket rounds on non-chrome lined barrels. Is there a considerable increase in wear if the two are used together? Got a yugo sks which are not chrome lined, and i shoot cheap shit bi metal wolf ammo. It is a minor concern considering i got the sks for $300 but it just got me thinking how much of this is true? Is it a marginal increase in wear or a noticeable one? If one has a non chrome barrel, should one need to shot both non-corrosive and fully copper jacked ammo? Or is it just a situation where yes it does wear quicker, but will still outlast you?

>>
Lucky gunner did some ammo test a while back and the wolf ammo ate through barrels in just a few thousand rounds. I think it may also have something to do with the abrasive powder and the rate of fire they tested at though. Still, the non-wolf outlasted it by far.
>>
I shot out an unlined AR barrel in less than 3k rounds using bi-metal Tula. Take that as you will.
>>
I think it's more of an accelerated wear if you are mag dumping but not as much of an issue with normal fire. The cost difference will apparently pay for a new barrel before you notice an accuracy degradation in any case.

Still working on it. They've got the 7.62 and 6.5 CT rounds sorted in terms of feeding and projected weight savings, now they're working on refining the 6.5 to get the best range out of it they can. If they push it into service too fast, we might end up with another shitter round like m195 55 grain, so its good they take their time.
>>
>>34189260
>M193 is a shitty round
U wut?

If one were building a literal trojan animatronic horse. What is the largest caliber that could be concealed in the penis of suit? I'm thinking 6.5mm would be compact enough without having an overly wide urethra. with either a top feed like the Type 96 with a long triggerbar, or turn something upside down. Belt fed seems like overkill given the existing weight constraints. A suppressor is mandatory to help keep the flange flat. A baffle strike is going to be pretty devastating either way so that's not a big worry.

Has any army actually fielded men in a horse suit for infiltration? It seems like you could go a long way at least against aerial surveillance. Like the inflatable tanks of yore, but semi functional.

Speaking of the type 96, they already proved that a wide field of view periscope design works on an LMG as necessary for getting around the magazine sticking up from the center. So extend the periscope design for allowing firing from this odd angle.

Hey, h-hey guise lets buy these really cool high speed, intercept aircraft with a high stall speed and use it as a ground attack aircraft! This won't end badly in any way! Wait.... Why is everybody dying??

Guise! The Italians just made this sick light strike plane! I know what we should do! We should use them as dogfighters!...what the fuck? These things are slow. Fuck it sell them to the Portuguese!
>>
>>34188835
>high speed
>high stall speed

Fighter bombers at the time were supposed to fly as fast as possible on the deck to their target, pop up, drop weapons and then fly as fast as possible back again.
Stall speed isn't really relevant at the transonic speeds that cold war war strike aircraft flew missions at; It sure as fuck made the F-104 unforgiving to land though (especially for inexperienced W-Ger airforce) along with the maintenance heavy blown flap system the F-104 uses (Although to be fair so does the Mig-21, not that that is a safe aircraft either...):

>Shitty ex bicycle mechanic conscript fails to maintain blown flap system correctly
>Blown flap system fails as the pilot comes in for final approach
>F-104 instantly loses 30% of lift and goes into deep stall 500ft agl.

The speed is probably the main reason why the F-104 so often found it's self in the fighter bomber role; The F-104 still to this day has the unofficial world record for sea level top speed.

Hi /k/,

please recommend me a backpack with the following attributes:

* Non-tactical looking.
* Deep concealment CCW compartment, like the 5.11 MOAB 11 Velcro pouch between the main compartment and the front pouch.
* Some sort of inlay or inner-pouch to put a plate carrier in.
* No sling-bangs, an actual backpack
* Must fit everyday office stuff, like a laptop, charger cable, a binder etc.

Pic not related.

the only one of those requirements my bag destine meet is being non tactical looking. but the Camelback Talon G is by far the best bag I've ever owned. capable of carrying rifles on either side, plates, a hydration system and even a parachute adapter. bit on the pricy side but definitely worth it

The intermediate cartridge belongs in select fire weapons only. Using a semi automatic weapon with an intermediate cartridge is an oxymoron and a waste.

Tell me about the Walther PPQ M2. It seems Walther has been getting a lot of hate on this board lately and I don't really see a reason why. Does Walther have a major flaw when compared to others in their price range?

Is the comparable VP9 superior to the PPQ? Walther owners where are you?

No, a Walther owner, but the triggers are pretty good for striker fired guns. Overall decent pistols in their class.

The only "Walther" I hate is the P22. That's just absolute fucking trash.
