So I'm drawing some shapes in perspective and lined up. How do I align them correctly so that the width between them is equal? Obviously I'm using imagination as source so I can't measure anything.

Use the X through the center trick to mirror a rectangle of the same size in perspective.
>>
>>2730850
This?
>>
>>2730857
Yes, though they are using it in this case to subdivide a box into smaller equal boxes. You can use it to extend equal boxes too by doing it in a different order.

Imagine you began with only a small box like the front little one in step 4. Do the green diagonals in step 3 to extend out and get the size of the next box.

Question for people who work in digital art

Don't you worry that when you die, or when you forget to save it, or even after a few years you will loose your work? I always take great care to choose paints with a low fugitive rating, make sure when all the oils are dry that I varnish it with care and look after the actual physical object so that there is a chance that in 600 years time my work might still be viewed.

I've never cared about that, it's painting I enjoy, not leaving some bullshit legacy
>>
>>2729184
People caring about "bullshit legacy" is why we can enjoy any paintings by van eyck, vermeer, davinchi, turner, rubens, any number of classics that are a part of our culture.
>>
People dont take care of shit these days.

What a dumb image you posted. Many people claim many different purposes of art, and no single answer is right or wrong. Different art has different goals and purposes and that is okay. Worry about it or trying to put down other art because it doesn't fit the goals you specified is dumb.

You can't please everyone, buddy.

But sometimes, rarely, like with this thread, you please nobody and look like a knob.

hi /ic/

i used to be prety good at drawing when i was younger, but i stopped for 10 years and i'm trying to get back at it.

at the moment, i'm just picking pictures from /hr/ and /wallpaper/ boards, but i'd like to build different folders of things to draw.

do you guys know where i could find lot of portrait, men, women, old, young...?
preferably big archives, but gallerys are welcome too :)

also fullbody pictures would interest me, since i really need to work on proportions.

Is there a point in learning proportions of a human figure, when I can just trace photos or use 3d models?

Memorizing charts from Loomis or grinding gesture drawings until I can do them with correct proportions from imagination seems like a waste of time, when such tools are available.

I mean, even professionals are tracing, so it must be a good idea, r-right?

Because we should not have to make new threads or post in draw threads with our fundamental exercises.
Feel free to post even the smallest exercise you have done to show you are still trying, do not give up, make someone proud.

AVOID asking unrelated questions, there is a question thread for that.

RESIZE YOUR IMAGES TO ~1000 PIXELS:

#1)
>screenshot the image and post that instead (I recommend ShareX)

#2)
>change camera capture settings to something smaller

#3)
>send to computer and resize in MSPaint

There's a new (and cleaner) sticky in town! You can see it at:

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1uwaXKU7ev6Tw_or__o8ARpUb6r2rCZYJGqwSFV9AD98/edit#bookmark=id.15jx3pyuimvj

>Thread study: Try to draw/paint the opening or any other following images.
Feel free to post your original works as well if you're trash.

TRY TO BE MORE ACTIVE AND GIVE PEOPLE SOME FEEDBACK - many studies are left unreplied, which is a bit sad and can be quite demotivating for the people that try their best to improve, but are left directionless.
