I save 3 seconds of my life when I turn on my computer
>>
>>56429111
I save hours of time each time I install large programs or other big bundles of files, and especially each time I modify/move/copy my partitions, install new linux distros to try them, etc.

Copying partitions at a quarter gigabyte per second is a bit less annoying than copying them at shitty hdd speeds.

Add faster internet too (new provider, 10x the speed for the same price), and installing linux distros is a chore that no longer takes an hour but just a few minutes.

Use >>>/g/ptg as a link to find the /ptg/ thread.

Remember the following:
>Staff at major private trackers have made it very clear that they do not approve of /ptg/ because of how unmoderated we are and how many people here have broken tracker rules in the past. Therefore, it is unwise to let tracker staff know you post here.
>Anything you post on /ptg/ that identifies you (emails, usernames, screenshots with too much info) can and will probably be used against you. Don't post any info without making sure it can't be traced back to you.
>/ptg/ is not moderated like /r/trackers. With our freedom, comes risk. Anybody can lie to you, report you to staff, or phish you at any time. Dumb people will get what they deserve here, so use your brain.
>Don't offer invites here unless you want to dramatically increase the chances of losing your account. If you invite a seller or a staff member pretending to be a normal person, you will be treebanned.
>Anybody who tells you it is easy to cheat on major private trackers is trying to get you banned for the lulz. Don't do it unless you want to get treebanned.
>most of the invite offers here are people trolling you with false hope - begging for invites is a waste of time and you should just interview at What.cd

IRC: #/tpg/ on irc.rizon.net

Other business laptops are also welcome in /tpg/ (e.g. Dell Latitude/Precision, HP EliteBook/ZBook).
----
If you're looking for purchase advice, READ THE BUYERS GUIDE FIRST. Then post, stating budget and requirements (e.g. size and performance).
Don't buy anything OTHER THAN T, X AND W/P SERIES if you want the Real ThinkPad Experience™

Recommended models:
T420 - 14", normal size
X220 - 12.5", ultraportable
----
Why ThinkPad? (also applies to other business laptops)
>Used machines are plentiful and cheap.
>Excellent keyboards - tactile feel and quiet.
>Great durability: chassis uses a magnesium rollcage for structural integrity, with high quality plastic body panels.
>Utilitarian design: e.g. indicator LEDs, 7 row keyboard layout on older models.
>Docking stations that easily turns your laptop into a desktop.
>Easy to repair, upgrade and maintain thanks to readily available service manuals for every model. Spare parts are easy and cheap to obtain.
>The best trackpoint (that red thing in the middle of the keyboard). Great for those who type a lot or hate swiping their fingers all over a touchpad.
>Excellent GNU/Linux & *BSD support.

The pre-select watches have been chosen.

If you remember, Tudor submitted 3 black bays for different catagories and all three have been pre-selected. Which is pretty crazy.
>>
The UN Grand Deck Marine Tourbillon is on the pre-select list.

It may be a little loud and big at 44mm, but it is a little mechanical marvel and is consistent with the "deck of a ship" astetic. They actually have this watch submitted under the "sports" category.
https://youtu.be/J_-siQSiVLc
>>
From the Seiko Camp, the Fugaku Tourbillon made pre-select under the "Artistic Crafts" category.

So did the Presage chronograph in the "Petite Aiguille" category. This would be the least expensive watch in the GP, I believe. If you know about the 8R family Seiko chronograph movements, or have heard me talk about them before, you know they are the ones that use three vertical clutches, one for each chronograph hand for smooth engagement. A pretty stellar mechanical chronograph movement, and one of the best deals in new mechanical chronos there is.

This particular watch is tribute to Japan's first wristwatch, the Laurel, which was made by Seiko.

Asking "Hey guys, what's your opinion on x?" is frowned upon.
Wireless is frowned upon.
Headset requests are frowned upon.
Noise isolation ≠ Noise cancellation
If you dislike a suggestion, try giving a better suggestion to whomever asked instead of going "hurr, x sucks"
