I have two of them running in my server rack at the house, one is dedicated as a VPN server on a powerful machine and the other is dedicated to being a router. the VPN server is behind the Edge PF.

the primary edge pf manages 7 different network, QOS and rate limiting, Tripple ISP/Gateway processing and redundancy, Edge passes about 1-2TB per day.

i then have another install on a dedicated 1Gb/ps server in a data-center for traffic centrialization, logging, and content filtering for clients. they have one onsite that VPN's into the DC PF and passes all traffic to it.

I'm considering trying it with a recently busted 7870.

I've just taken it apart and haven't noticed any kind of damage, so I may as well try it.

You should get a RAM kit (2x4GB) opposed to a single stick so the memory runs in dual channel. Not bad other than that. What about storage?

I've come for peoples opinions. I am looking for an alternative to a mumble server which i host at home. It seems to lack basic features and when compared to Skype the background noise cancellation is far worse. Also video calls would a nifty feature to have available.

So what would /g/ recommend?

Now it's better than a 980Ti (non OC) after optimizations and DX12 (with async), and it was cheaper.

Just look at the CPU market, Intel is dominating it because their competitors failed to bring anything decent to the market, they charge premium for barely any performance increase.

Just look at the Professional GPU market, AMD also failed to provide anything decent there, now nvidia released some $8k GPU for CAD that's as strong as two Titan X, which are WAY cheaper.

Competition = Good
Monopoly = Bad

The issue is that if your making stuff which I am I need the better equipment to get it done faster and NVIDIA/Intel just blow AMD out of the water. I don't want a monopoly but the only thing gimping myself in protest will do is gimp myself. Going AMD wont save AMD.
