I want to build a Plex/Media Server PC for really, really cheap. I already have a couple hard drives ready, not sure if I should switch to NAS.

Any tips? How should I go about this? Should I do it as a server OS or just regular PC that chills there?

I had an Azulle Quantam windows 10 stick and it basically bit the dust in a fantastic and mysterious way within a couple of hours of using it.

Are mini pc's generally shit? I just want something I can file share to my downstairs TV.

Any recommendations for smart TV hookups?

Is there any way to emulate an installation of Chromium (the OS) without any issues (on Windows)?

I'm trying to rip something off of Google Play Movies, but due to their retarded "botnet required", it's impossible to maintain an HD stream on anything other than a chromebook (or really, just the Chrome/Chromium OS), as the stream quality relies on your internet speed, and doesn't buffer more than a minute. If you have a Chrome OS installed, you can just download the video onto the computer, and proceed from there.

I'd rather not dualboot this trash, so it'd be great if there were a better way to do this.

If I wanted to convert 169.254.0.xxx into the network address using a subnet mask for class b of 255.255.0.0, then the network portion of the address would only outcome to 16 bits right because the subnet mask is only 16 bits?

tried to install linux os after using windows whole life

chose ubuntu, set up bootable usb

crashes on average 15 mins after boot, no audio crash but screen crash so any video freezes and can't click on anything, can't bring up any menu with keyboard. Keep rebooting with Alt+SysRq+"REISUB".

put ubuntu on disc and tried reinstalling - same problem

now what /g/? pls don't tell me to install gentoo
