Is the 2017 iPad currently the best value tablet you can get?
>>62096545
If only for free
I've bought an iPad Pro of last year several months ago. The iPad 2017 is a downgrade of the iPad Air 2.
>>62096545
>best display
>best battery life
>best apps optimized for tablets
>software updates for at least next 3-4 years (available instantly on day of release)
it's obvious
How can windows claim to be any fucking good at all if they cant even be bothered to update Windows Media player.
It has barely changed since 1998 and its still glitchy as fuck.
What are the best alternatives.

Are there smartphone equivalents of business-grade (e.g. HP and Lenovo's lines) laptops yet?
i.e. robust and easily repaired models that got sold off in bulk whenever a business upgraded and are sold used cheap and in good condition.

Is there any extension/program that requires you to type in the reason for accessing the internet or the computer in general?
I want to confront my computer addiction and I feel that if I put a specific goal every time I accessed it, I can see if I deviate from being productive and be able to do what I intended. It obviously wouldn't be able to stop me from binge watching videos, but if I was reminded that I had to have a good reason to be online it would help prevent me from falling into the instant entertainment trap. This would also help me dedicate quality entertainment time instead of just surfing.
Not that I know of but it would be useful for me. Like, right now, wasting time on /g/.
Maybe I'll try to make one but I won't promise anything.
Try rescuetime
>>62096031
If you could make it that would be great.
>>62096051
It looks decent, but it doesn't have the features that would help me stop my usage. I don't want to track how much time I spend or limit myself in any way except for my intent. I know that if I limit myself in ways like time, I will get pissed off at myself and rebel.
I trust that if my intent is in place, my usage will lessen and productivity will increase. Without this kind of program I feel like I would forget to ask myself and then I would return to my old habits.
I'm running laravel homestead-vm. Now this is a going to sound like a REALLY stupid question, but
how do I write a colon (:)?
Im trying to runphp artisan db:seed

Normally, I would be surprised, but since you're a PHP dev, I am not.

>FreeBSD
Best for server usage of all kinds and networking, very stable
>OpenBSD
Best for ultra autistic paranoid firewall usage
>NetBSD
Portable, good for specialized hardware and IoT projects
Please elaborate to me, why in the fuck anyone would use this particular BSD over any other?
used it back in 2009, was good back then, now its shit so I dont
I'm trying, but I've yet to find any documentation telling me how to setup a desktop environment.

This thing converts function calls between Unicode and JIS? What nonsense language is this?
>>62095670
Wouldn't you need a look up table to convert encodings? Is it hidden in there somewhere?
Is electron fast enough to make painting software?
Or do I need to go with dinosaur C++ frameworks?
I wanna make something like Krita but less functional.
> electron
Tell me this is a troll thread and you aren't seriously this retarded
>>62095655
yes, use<canvas>. browsers are fast enough too if you want to just make a HTML version of mspaint
https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/Canvas_API
>>62095756
That's the idea. I'm wondering if there's noticable performance drops when complex stuff starts happening, like effect layers and whatnot.
According to https://www.openhub.net/p/systemd/analyses/latest/languages_summary
Systemd has WH*PPING 373,941 lines of code, in different languages also. It is nearly impossible to audit this much code and devs with malicious intents could implement a simple backdoor or two without anyone noticing.
Who do you trust to run pid1 software on your computer? How can you trust these people?
Why you still haven't ditched systemd for a more simple, transparent alternative?
>>62095542
systemd just works anon
just replace with openrc if you want to be a autist
>>62095542
Not defending the project but you haven't presented a reasonable argument. You have said large projects are harder to ensure correctness, systemd is a large project, so why do you trust the systemd devs to write pid1?
Well we both know that all that code doesn't end up in pid1 so your argument doesn't hold up at all. They could take great care with the small amount of code that ends up in pid1, you haven't given any evidence either way.
Linux itself has over 19 million lines of code so I guess it can't be trusted either. If you can't trust the kernel it becomes kinda pointless to discuss whether you can trust anything else.
Hey /g/, a while back there was talk about where to get a good win7 iso and also a way to get activation keys. In a bind and need a activation key, know how i can get one on the wild wild Internet?
Use kmsauto http://forum.ru-board.com/topic.cgi?amp&forum=2&topic=5328
Keys from places like /r/microsoftsoftwareswap aren't actually retail and could get revoked. Hasn't happened to me in the past but it is a possibility.
>>62095534
Forgot to include the digitalriver mirror for untouched ISOs, here: http://mirror.corenoc.de/digitalrivercontent.net/
>>62095561
wish i had seen this earlier, thanks anon. I have win 7 already installed but i need activation, the kmsauto sit is in Cyrillic and im not sure which of those programs is the one i need.
How many packages do you have installed /g/?
Inb4 a bunch of screenfetching Arch-autists with bundled dbg and dev packages boasting about their ~500 packages. Sure that's enough for screenfetching and watching anime but that's it. Kys.
> 2178
>>62095380
How many packages is too many packages?
>1941
>>62095400
Amount of packages is a dumb measure. If you need a ton of tiny dbg and dev packages it easily rockets to 3000. Then again, some distros like Arch combine the packages, so comparing the amount of packages is retarded.
