Anyone want to chime in on why what seems to be a pretty fucking basic phishing scam is somehow 'evidence of Russian state actors'? I'm fucking lost.

>buy radio for 07 Elantra
>dafuq? the connectors don't match up...

I don't know what either of these connectors are called, or why they do not match.
Did I get the wrong radio? Or has somebody moded this vehicle to add a special radio connector?

Any help would be appreciated if one of you knows what's going on.

I need some help. I've got someone who wants me to spec out a computer for them. I'm stumped as to which video card to spec for them. They want to drive a 4K TV and three 1080p monitors. They aren't going to be gaming, so I think it would be possible to run this using one video card, but I could be wrong. I was thinking he would need a 1070 or 1080 but I'm not entirely sure how much power a 4k TV would need. Any suggestions?
9 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
Get a gigabyte 1050 I use it to drive 4 monitors including one 4k one.
>>
>>57964843
If you're parting this out to someone who clearly doesn't know what they're doing, get them a 1060 at bare minimum. Don't risk giving them something that isn't at least somewhat futureproofed as resolutions go up. They will be mad as fuck and blame you. Don't give them something that "will work", give them something that smoothly handles the job and continues to do so for some time in the future. Otherwise, you'll get burned for it.
>>
>>57965322
Yeah, this isn't my first rodeo doing this stuff. That's why I'm looking for some recommendations. I was thinking of going with the 1070. Seeing as the guy above said a 1050 works for more or less the same setup.

Storing client-side user preferences, such as language, region, etc. Very useful on sites that don't have accounts.
>>
HTTP is stateless on the client-side, cookies provide client-side state.

How you use that is up to you: some use it to store session info, some use it to store local preferences, others use it for analytics.

hello /g/entoomen

i want to try out linux for the first time, where do i start? Which distro should i choose?
12 posts and 3 images submitted.
>>
>>57964740
Ubuntu, this is the only choice. Everything else needs some post-configuration, besides Solus which doesn't have enough repos at the moment and Ubuntu derivatives (Trisquel, a 100% libre distribution; Linux Mint, which is probably good but less secure; and Elementary OS, a macOS clone bloated piece of crap).

I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're referring to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I've recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.

Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU which is widely used today is often called "Linux", and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the GNU system, developed by the GNU Project.

There really is a Linux, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the system they use. Linux is the kernel: the program in the system that allocates the machine's resources to the other programs that you run. The kernel is an essential part of an operating system, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete operating system. Linux is normally used in combination with the GNU operating system: the whole system is basically GNU with Linux added, or GNU/Linux. All the so-called "Linux" distributions are really distributions of GNU/Linux.

Yes, definitely.

I'm working on reverse engineering the proprietary serial bus in 64-bit Apple iOS devices. I have an iPad for work and I tried to charge it with a $5 gas station cable. I got a popup saying that "this accessory is not supported" and it wouldn't charge. So I've been trying to figure out which of the 8 pins on lightning are used for serial. They seem to alternate but I don't think it's random. I know for sure that there's a little controller chip in Apple certified cables that exchanges a key with the device. Like 30 pin had dedicated serial connection pins. 8 pin does not. Thoughts?

Hi /g/ I'm in need of some software and before I simply pirate the Adobe's lineup I was thinking of giving free software a chance. What are the best free:
RAW editor
Photo/image editor
Video editor

It's not like I need all the features of professional software but the last time I tried the free alternatives like GIMP they were incredibly tedious to use and had very unintuitive interface.
