So, seeing as LaTeX (+TeX) is literally the worst fucking thing of all time, calling into question anything even breathed on by Lamport and Knuth, are there any usable alternatives out there? Not talking about the even further complicating XeXaTex LuaTex Texatexatex or any other derivative monstrosities.

it's been a while since i had to use latex but i seem to remember gitting gud being an important part of it
My dad passed away last year and I am fortunate enough to still have some of his voicemails on my phone. However, I'm due for an upgrade and need it, but the thing is that my voicemail box gives me no other way to transfer the recordings. I was thinking of just recording it on another device if all else fails. The second part of this is: I was wondering if it's at all possible to somehow take all his recordings and make it say a message for my grandmother who misses him terribly. Some messages say I love you mami (he's Puerto Rican and that was what he would always call the women in his life) I wanted to maybe put this on a card that is capable of recording with a message of something along the lines of "Hello mami, I love you" sorry if this was long, but I just want to be able to give her something because I know she misses him terribly and hearing his voice again would make her so happy. If anyone out there is capable of this please help me, thank you
capture card maybe?
Just get her a male prostitute
Call recording app maybe
I can't get a straight answer out of anyone.
How much of this shit am I supposed to put on my GPU?
All of the

A very small amount, make an X on whatever chip you're applying the paste to, the lines in the X should be about half a centimeter across.

Never in my life had a laptop that was so hard to get the hard drive out of
Now I finally got the keyboard off and find this fucking ribbon covering the hard drive
Any good advice to remove ribbon without destroying it? I tried pulling it out but it's fucking stuck in there.
I swear to God I'm never buying ASUS again
>>57956407
its a hard drive hymen, just cut it with scissors
>>57956407
It's a ribbon cable with ZIF connectors, but you knew that, didn't you?
just pull it but be careful. dell has also done that in the past and i think hp as well.
if it does break you lose some ports (probably) until the replacement comes back.
So here's the deal. My new job is blocking most websites and known VPN services/proxies. I have a Raspberry Pi running Raspbian and doing basically nothing.
What steps/software should I use to transform it into a VPN server from home? I could connect through SSH and make a tunnel maybe? Please halp
>>57956400
It's very easy... get a new job :)
here's a weird idea. just hear me out.
do your job
DO UR JOB LEL

>"That time of year"

>None under $25
What went wrong? From 2010-2015 it was open season on VPSs under $15/year easily. Now I can't find any. I refuse to pay more than $15 because some of these shitty VPS providers go under or screw you over, which has happened to me a bunch of times already.

/g/ I moved to a new building for uni, and my WiFi is always slow as fuck, I can'y play CS-GO on 200ms.
My neighbours are old people, can I somehow get into their wifi and use theirs?
no
>>57956071
Sure you can.
Depends on their network security. Or you could ask them if you could use it and pay a little.
My Asus Radeon HD 7970 has been declining in performance and crashing/overheating with even the lightest loads for quite some time. Took the bait and bought it cheaply from eBay used and without warranty. Not happening again.
Now I'm thinking of switching to Nvidia and, with about $400 to spend, I'm trying to find the sweet spot, the best deal of price vs performance. I'll also consider Radeon cards if you'd recommend me one since I haven't regretted a purchase that /g/ recommended yet. My current front-runner is the GTX 1060 with 6 GB Vram. Should I?
>>57956069
Worst time to switch to nvidia
they are just about to get rekt by the 490
Just get a 480 8gb and wait
Made a spreadsheet with various local shops and prices in euros
>>57956069
Rx 480 is 6% faster than the 1060 in Dx12, and only 2% behind in Dx11 and it's cheaper on average if you're in the states.
It's just a better choice all around than the 1060.
