daily reminder that android's hardware doesn't hold it back, it's the software.
reminder that android os is complete garbage. reminder that being able to rice your phone doesn't make the os good.
>>58305308
do u like anime feet
I've seen the suggestion for putting your phone in a sack of rice to try to save it from water damage but I didn't know it only worked for android devices.

you're right
that's why iphones are the best
>my ghetto pirated malwarebytes realtime protection expires
>pirate an indie game, lotta people already got t and they aren't showing any issues
>shady quickie command propt pops up the dissapears right before install
>whoopde fuckin do, it's a chinese trojan packed in it
>spaz out, open taskmanager, close all the chink shit it's trying to install
>it fucks with my connection, browser, tries to install a bunch of adware
>update the database of the free version malwarebytes
>unplug internet cable
>remove everything by hand like a frantic fisherman ripping leeches off his genitals

>keep re-running scans
>it put a cerber randsomware installer in my temp files too
>realize the bullets i just dodged whilst this fucking antivirus just sat there and watched me, whilst being fully capable of preventing this
>it still fucked my internet connection and i think its trying to pull account data using it, it keeps fucking up sites owned by google like youtube and google help pages specifically
>have a system restore that's 10 days old ready to go
how do paid antivirus creators fucking sleep at night
any chinks try to hack YOUR heatsinks?
antivirus creators don't make software for pathetic manchildren who play video games
>pirated realtime protection expires
how does pirated software expire?

Kink in the ghetto rig that made it work.
It stopped the AV from calling home and taught it that it was still paid for premium but at one point that just stopped working and it reverted back to a free version.
I know this is trivial as fuck, but I'm not a smart man. I transferred everything from my 1 TB external to my new 4TB and all of the sudden it's 2.5 TB. How did I fuck up?
I asked /b/ this afternoon but I had to go to a lunch meeting and missed most of it and now it's gone. They seemed to agree it was something about a "4k write speed"? Does that sound right?
Do I need to go back to NTFS or can I keep it exFAT?
Is it this guy?
>>58305192
Even if all your 59k files were overallocated by 64k bytes, that's still just ~4GB wasted.
>>58305236
I just dragged and dropped everything, was there a better/cleaner way of doing it?
I also can't seem to find it in the defrag window. It shows up in Disk management as "Basic" and "healthy" but it's nowhere to be found when I try a defrag.
Want a nice Linux laptop.
Found a used 2014 Macbook Pro, i5/16/512, for about £900,
should I go for it?

Obviously will be wiping OSX and installing Linux

You don't really do this, do you?
>>58304986
of course not, only a retard would do that

why the fuck is it so wrong?
Why aren't you using Void GNU/Linux yet?
>no systemd
>base install is completely Free as in Freedom
>maintained by the community
>rolling release
>KISS
>great package manager
>uses NSA-free LibreSSL
>can use musl, a bloat-free glibc
>you can build your packages from source if you wish
>contributing new packages is super easy
I jumped ship from Arch, and so should you.
>no systemd
into the trash it goes

Sounds too good.

TV thread
Which panels are the best? Which brands are the best?
I'd liek the TV with:
1080p - 4k resolution
WiFi
DVB-T2
HEVC / h.265
37 - 40"
I know you autists don't care about old technology such as TV.
But I would not like to buy crap

stop worrying about what TV you want and fucking install Gentoo already

What is the best language and why is it node.js?
>>58304941
Im having a hard time naming a more cancerous combo of software than npm+node+electron
NPM works about 20 percent of the time throwing cryptic error messages.
Electron is like squeezing a turd into a picture frame and calling it a standalone desktop """"app""""
Node runs painfully slow on lower end hardware despite being marketed as lightweight and efficent. It has shit multicore support.
Use Python Golang or even Lua
>>58305099
npm works for me like 99% of the time
are you sure you're using the latest version?
never had efficiency problems with node but you should really only use it for lightweight I/O applications. anything processor heavy should be done with something else.
>>58304941
Why does this exist? Because web devs don't want to part with JavaScript?
Hey /g/,
I have been digging through my parents basement and found pic related and his twinbrother.
I don't know if they still work and i would like to test that out without buying an expensive amplifier.
Is something like that possible ?
If not, what kind of amplifier would i need, if i want to buy a moderate subwoofer later down the line ?
The cables are intact and on the back it says the following:
WHARFEDALE HI FI
MONITOR 70
70/ 100 WATT
20Hz - 20kHz
4 - 16 ohm
That's all i can give you in information.
I'd appreciate your help /g/
>>58304876
It's a speaker.
unless something is physically broken it will work. It's also running on a pretty normal wattage so any normal amp should be able to power it.
>>58305070
got a recommandation or recommended specs ?
>>58305193
not really.
ONKYO amps are pretty good. any 400W+ amp will do.

Why does /g/ never talk about machine learning and ai? it's the future of technology after all
We do, it's rudimentary and a meme.
The only thing that comes of this is data collection for market research.
Because I get enough machine learning at work.
>work on AI knowing that it'll replace millions of workers with machines
I wouldn't do this.
I'd like to get a new TV once my tax returns come in - what should I look for? Just some tips would help. I'd like a big one that can showcase dat 60 frame goodness, 4k isn't a huge priority, I was told not to get a 4D TV
