We are now 3 days into 2017.
There is literally no excuse for you to not be using the best laptop on the market... Unless you are a neckbeard, are poor, or are a gaymer faggot.
As a poor person this triggers me.

First for C++ is shit.
Java is the only programming language
is Deepin a good DE, or is it part of the Chinese buttnet?
The Deepin DE was created by and for the Chinese in order to make U.S. DEs non-competitive.
Just install Ubuntu.
>>58309057
he needs to come to ubuntu himself. there's no point in rushing the full circle
How is Mac OSX even useful if you can't even play games? There's no directx so you have low graphics performance, why would anyone want that?
Don't use Akari for shitposting.
I want to fug her butte.
do NOT LEWD AKARIN
/g/, there's an ever present pink hue on the right side of my monitor that just started an hour or so ago. Exactly like pic related.
Is my monitor beginning to shit itself? Time for a new one? It's almost three years old. Monitor is an HP Pavilion 23xi

Install gentoo to fix it.
check connection

Congratulations, you fell for the IPS meme.
It's already the year two thousand seventeen.
What's your excuse for still not having switched to the world's most advanced operating system?
>>58308869
First off, it's TWENTY-seventeen, not two thousand seventeen. Are we going to continue this forever, like saying "two thousand eighty six" and 'two thousand one hundred seventy three"? No, so get on the bandwagon before it's too late.
Second off, it's a dumbed down toddler grade OS that is inexplicably incompatible with proper computers despite running on the same hardware, unless one does some low-level programming overlays to make it work.
Because I just switched away from it in the year two thousand thirteen.
>>58308869
I stopped using it last year. Apple simply doesn't sell hardware I want to buy and hackintosh is a pain in the ass.
Linux works for everything I did before.. I'm sure Windows would too.
would it be possible to create a credit card (not stolen or someone elses) that would just trick the credit card slider into thinking that you paid for something? so you just slide the card, enter a pin, and it gets approved.
im definitely not smart enough to do anything like that. just wondering if it would be possible.
No you retard
No, retard.
No, when you swipe/insert the machine checks to make sure the info is legit

Why is it so hard for phishing scammers to make an email look correct? I've never received one of these that didn't have something like spelling errors or a really bad imitation logo.
>>58308666
if they weren't retarded they wouldn't be criminals.
>>58308666
It's intentional, they only want people stupid enough to get past the spelling errors and awful imitation logos, much easier to scam than waste time with a /g/ sperglord running arch.
>>58308666
Because most people are retarded enough to click on it so they don't need to care
I am thinking to build an Audio/Video studio off a Dev Board (Pi or Odriod most likely)
I am looking for opinions on which board and o/s
as well as possible pitfalls. this would be for youtube video editing off action cams and recording off Blue mics or similar.
Before you ask it has a lot to do with the fact that my computers are old and loud and a dev board would be quieter and cheaper than an upgraded laptop
also I guess actually developing some custom audio video recording components could be good but I think external components is a good start
>>58308641
I did some ffmpeg / ffserver broadcasting with a pi a few years back. You'll be wanting a decent DAC and powersupply
would that be just for streaming and monitoring or would the DAC also be needed for editing. all the input would be usb or card drops. sorry if that is a stupid question. I am new to lots of this
where are the /g/uts at.

those are some impressive guts.
Why is IE 11 so comfy, /g/?
because it's the most native browser

I'm just gonna leave my top 10 android app list here. All of them, except Aptoide, are open source.
1. F-Droid
2. AFWall+
3. AdAway
4. Checky (From GuardianProject)
5. Yalp Store (PlayStore without Google Services)
6. Amaze
7. Autostarts
8. VLC
9. KeePassDroid
10. Aptoide (For cracked apps)
Feel free to post yours.
I'm experimenting with running a no-gapps android phone, and finding that the biggest thing I miss is a good navigator/maps tool.
Any recommendations for a FOSS one that isn't utter dogshit? I have tried Osmand~ but I'm not really digging the whole 'download 800 megs of map data before using this app' thing.
Forgot to mention Cyanogenmod of course, if a custom firmware counts as an app.
>>58308523
Try to find it in the F-Droid repo. That's what I'd do first.
Hey guys, so i have like 10 days to do a project for my programming class, the project is in C but my prof sucks, so i have to learn everything from scratch. Is it possible? And do you know any online courses like Code academy or something for C? Thanks
Ps: Anyone interested in helping me with this project?
I know a bit of C but bumping this thread so I can learn stuff I might have missed
Do you absolutely know no C OP?
I know some stuff, but just the basic
>>58308434
The problem isn't about you not knowing C so much as you not knowing how yo program.
C is the simplest programming language possible. It has no bells nor whistles.
If you knew how to program, you would only need to look up syntax and the standard library.
Codecademy and other websites will not fix this. They teach languages, not programming.
Is this better than Chrome on macOS?
>>58308431
Yes
Negative
>>58308431
Of course it is... Apple throttles everything else so other browsers don't stand a chance.
