What music does /g/ listen to while programming?
I'll start I just found Ryo Fukui yesterday and it's been love at first site currently listening to Mellow Dream.
>>58302936
>post any given shit on /g/
>add "while programming" at the end of the sentence
>Becomes technology thread
Get the fuck back to /mu/
>>58302993
Well fuck I was going to stay here but now that you said go back to /mu/ I guess that really leaves me with no choice.
Nicely done anon I'll admit when I've been brutally defeated.
>listening to music while programming
do people really do this?
Will using the track point make me a better lover??
Thinkpad users don't have lovers so it doesn't matter.
I've been told I'm pretty good at fingering
I've also used Trackpoints and the dell one before
Only problem is that with fingering, you don't concentrate just on the clit, you also need to put your fingers inside of her
>>58302819
it's the other way around: if you know how to pleasure a clitoris, you will navigate your computer via track ball like a demigod.
>Move in with pretty chill guy
>He's....not on our level when it comes to computers
>His laptop is a mess of files every which way
>So why can't you get this to run, dude?
>"I forgot my password for it anon"
>Broken codecs, missing drivers, you get the picture.
>Offer to set up his laptop, fresh install
>"yeah that'd be swell anon"
>After rifling thru his personal stuff to back, I come across his passwords for several accounts, email, apple, etc.
>laptop is freshly set up for him.
>debating how to let him come across his login data without letting him know I recovered and saw it.
This is the sort of culture where betrayal or knowing something you're not is much more serious than what exactly it is, or the usefulness of you knowing it.
The fuck do I do /g/
install gentoo
>>58302815
"Hey bro, your password file is (here) so you don't forget next time. Btw, (x website) was hacked recently, its always a good idea to change your passwords every few months."
>>58302815
Chrome and Firefox should save his login data if he's logged in to their services.
How is Linux even useful if you can't even play games? There's no directx so you have low graphics performance, why would anyone want that?
>>58302761
I don't play videogames.
> Being this bored on a monday
faggot
>>58302771
that's not a valid argument, because if you ever changed your mind and decided you wanted to play videogames you wouldn't be able to, at least not at a proper frame rate or performance
Woah, dudes! Are you guys trying to hack me?
Thankfully I have McCaffee to protect me.
This is probably my last post since 4chan is now considered harmful.
>he accepted the risk and went in anyway
You done fucked up kiddo, prepare your anus. Anonymous is coming.
>McAfee

Whats wrong with McAfee?
I want to teach myself coding, is Codeacademy a good site for it? I just did the first HTML+CSS course.
There is no particular reason why I want to learn it, I just am interested in it.
Did anyone of you learn coding without visiting any University or some sort of course? How did it turn out?
>Tho most practical solution
http://www.w3schools.com/
Easiest order to learn for me was (and how our school did it):
HTML
CSS
PHP
SQL (can be somewhere in between those points)
Javascript
Jquery
(Extra: Using Frameworks like bootstrap)
Tip: Learning by doing, make your own sites. If you have any problems, just google. HTML is old af, frustrations may appear. Wish you good success.
>>58302751
This.
I learned C# and HTML at the same time back in school. Javascript/JQuery same after. I found C# to be good for starting out, it's quite different from JS and HTML, but it taught me variables, loops, and most all of the basics.
I'd recommend w3schools as >>58302751
said, and https://msdn.microsoft.com/ has some pretty good and to-the-point information on any variable type, loop construct, whatever.

Thank you for your help guys.
What are some existing word processing machines that is still being produced?
I just wanna type and type without anything interfering it.
>>58302629
Simply install a text editor with a distraction-free mode. There are many of them.
>>58302629
Freewrite
But you'll look like an ADHD filthy hipster faggot using it.
>>58302986
Thanks but I'd love a separate device with a non-color display.

Holy shit no
Is VOAT the conservative version of Reddit ?
>>58302484
VOAT is the empty version of reddit
>>58302484
It goes down the second there are more than 1,000 concurrent users.
It was coded by a 19 year old on ASP.net and Windows.
>>58302495
Maybe reddit it just the full version of voat
Why do we always see in loonix desktop screenshots that lunix is ran on a laptops in 90% cases. Is it because they actually have Windows on their main machine??
>>58302452
> not having a laptop as main machine
>>58302452
i use linux on a desktop as my only machine, ama.
Most people use laptops as their main machine.
What's /g/'s opinion on actionscript and Adobe Flash in general?
Should i study actionscript 3.0?
>Should i study actionscript 3.0?
yes. in fact, everyone should
>>58302440
Actionscript 3 made up for a LOT of the problems with Flash and AS2. It's a real shame it's gone, it was a case of throwing out the baby with the bathwater. There's still a place for it though, in some areas.
>>58302440
Flash is absolute garbage
>>58302579
>There's still a place for it though, in some areas.
Name one
Does such a thing exist? I'm looking for custom or hacked firmware for my printer that would let me print with 3rd party carts without being "low on ink". Specifically HP printers.
As a side question - is there any inkjet printer out there that doesn't fuck you in the ass with "low ink" baloney?
>mfw this is exactly the question that later resulted in the birth of GNU and FSF
also I've heard a rumour that devices made by OKI (and brother) are pretty okay modern printers.
If you print a lot look for printers that have aftermarket Continous Ink Supply kits. (example: http://colorway.com/ciss).
I have a decade old HP LaserJet P2015 that I bought brand new. Haven't done anything to it since, still works.
>>58302416
I've heard the same rumour about Brother, but i'm pretty wary of buying a printer only based on a rumour.
Got this HP 2050A printer a neighbor dumped on me for free, i got some 3rd party carts for and even a CISS rig, but the things still "run out of ink" after a number of pages have been printed with them. From what i gather it stores their serial numbers in EEPROM somewhere and doesn't want to forget their "low ink status" no matter what. So here i am, posting on 4chan if there are any known, more Stallman-approved printers out there.
I've seen projects that use an Arduino to drive an inkjet cartridge but nothing beyond that. Why aren't there any hacked firmwares after all these years?

Who's /g/'s favourite sci-fi artist

I like Robert McCall.
What's the best firewall that respects my freedom the most?
iptables
iptables
Firewalls are not capable of respect. They're just 1's and 0's anon
Does anyonehave The Art Of Computer Programming in Epub or Mobi? Or maybe a non-scanned PDF?
It's not in the gentoomen torrent.
fuck off m8
>>58302254
why?
>>58302296
because you should be able to find something like this by yourself you can't be that fucking dependent on others
The madmen are actually doing it

And people are still going to buy it in droves. That's how retarded consumers have become.
