Bump
Employee stories from Applel's retail places are a snorefest, but surely there's one of you Macfags out there that works in their headquarters or somewhere else that isn't just retail. What's it like throwing away any prospect of a social life by working here?
its fine. it isnt really that different than any bay area job. people are just older and more stuck-up about working at apple
everyone drinks the kool-aid. im bitter because i wont be moving to campus 2 when it opens
not really able to share any other info
>>58313312
>not really able to share any other info
Bullshit
>>58313285
What do?
>>58313255
Just don't buy 3 TB of anything with the word "Seagate" on it and you're fine with either.
>>58313255
Seagate bought Sandforce.
WD bought Sandisk.
You decide which is the better choice.
seagate: drives come from across the sea, from china, bad quality, cancerous chink bacteria etc.
western digital: good quality product from the western world, digital file format unlike analog seagate product, superior in every aspect
what r ur CFLAGS?
>>58313247
Fresh install (first boot literally 10 minutes ago), so vanilla as fuck
"-march=native -O2 -pipe"
>>58313389
same, trying to understand the extra shit in O2 vs. O3 but looks like a fuckton of mystification
-march=native -O2 -fomit-frame-pointer -pipe
I messed up /g/uys...
Is there a chance?
:(
RIP
I removed the hard drive, no damage to it, physically, can it be salvaged by plugging into another laptop?

wot did u do
why don't you make a distro based on LFS, add a good DE like budgie, pack in chrome, firefox, qemu, virtualbox, steam and start asking for donations on the download link like elementaryOS does? seems like an easy plan to make cash
No reliable package manager
>>58313198
Make a distro based on Gentoo, add a good DE like Chrome Browser, pack in Chrome Browser, Google Ultron, and start bundling it with cheap pajeet laptops on the download link like Ubuntu does? seems like an easy plan to make cash
>>58313198
Why do you want both chrome and firefox?
Now that these devices have been hit with the bootloop bullshit, let's get recommendations for similar phones. Doesn't have to be around the same price, but definitely looking for something similar if not better. I've only had Nexus devices but don't want to go back.
How exactly are they bootlooped and why did it happen suddenly.
>>58313216
I forget the exact details but god damn did google and LG shit the bed on the phones. Think it had something to do with a security update as well? Either way shit's dead.
>>58313155
Ay goyim you should buy our brand new Google Pixel.
prove me wrong. Protip: you can't.
I am a mod and I am Rajesh.

why does legacy capcha only work sometimes? is it the jews?
>the year of the quantum desktop will come before the year of the Linux desktop
>>58312999
and you can only program it in haskell
>>58312999
I thought they already have. NSA, google/facbook (i think they share one) and a some lab in europe (the one that invented it) all have a basic quantum computer. The only real problem is error correction and that isn't going to get solved soon because everyone is going off on different tangents trying to find the best solution.
>>58313030
>haskell
>not quantum python
Check those indents anon.
Why doesn't the default browser change when I select Google Chrome? Why does Microsoft suck donkey balls?
Edge is perfectly fine. Stop being a stupid hipster.
>>58314133
all of it is botnet I am about to throw this shit in the trash.
Select edge as default, close, then select chrome. It glitches out for whatever reason. Or maybe it's intentional. Who knows
Any tips from a /g/ on how to fit in on IRC? I don't want to be sniffed out as a sperg.

How you tried lurking moar? Jesus christ, what kind of newfag question is this?
The last piece of tech you bought that you highly recommend
Pic related: 34 inches of ultrawide monitor goodness. Downside is it cost about as much as my computer, but it's really good.
>>58312912
I like it and would like one but I also think that the lack of vertical resolution is still problematic for a programmer.
>>58312912
That's a wide screen
>>58313024
For you.
Is a laptop really necessary anymore if I already have a powerful desktop and smartphone?
>>58312902
no, phones are basically replacements for laptops
>>58312902
i love akarin~
>>58312902
I like having a laptop at work because I can dock at my desk but still take it around to meetings. At home, I would like to do the same, but I typically do graphics-things (ie games) at home and I wouldn't want a laptop for that so I use a desktop.
If "gaming" laptops werent heavy ovens then maybe I would do the same at home.
We use terminator at work. Anything better than that?

When will Intel/amd break the 10 GHz barrier base clock on consumer grade CPUs?
I'm predicting 2022
Probably a few years after we move from silicon.
>>58312844
woah you gave them a whopping 5 years to triple that shit
Not in our lifetime. No reason to.
