So this has been out a while now and was received rather well by this board.

Stand out features were the onboard graphics, build quality and the price for specs.

So for those anons that did buy it back around October, what are your long term reviews of it?

Concerns of sceptics included lack of English version of Windows, potential overheating and lower than advertised battery life.

Rumours of a 'Pro' edition or a 15" variant failed to materialise at CES 2017. So is this still a viable option at the begining of 2017?

Back with computer power issue again.

I switch power on at the socket, press the on- button on the PC - nothing. No fan moving or anything.

Leave it and press power button 5 hours later - starts and runs perfectly.

I think leaving it for a long time is charging up faulty capacitors in the PSU but I'm not sure what it is.

Any ideas?

I just stumbled upon the fact that you can use bash on windows 10, and it's easy as fuck. Can even write bash scripts and with upcoming windows update execute windows binaries from there. Any opinions?

Kevin switched from Solus to windows, who knew?
>>
>>58401921
It's very technically impressive, but in practical terms, it's basically Cygwin except a bit faster and it can't use Windows APIs, sound or graphics. It will probably coax some webdevs over to Windows if they need shit like Redis.

The most exciting thing about WSL is that they had to make the console less shit for it to work, so now the console is less shit, even when hosting native Win32 programs.

I got mine off of my uncle's computer after he died.

How come it's always thinkpads that get recommended?
Why does no one being up the Elitebooks or latitudes?

Elitebook 2560p is only 12.5" and socketed so you can upgrade to a quad core cheap. Imagine a cheap quad core 12.5 inch mobile workstation .

I got a 7700k and am wondering how in the hell you get a stable 5.0 overclock at 1.3v like I see all the reviewers doing. I was only able to get a stable overclock at 1.4. This produced unacceptable temperatures in the low 90s with my h100i when testing with realbench. I was able to get a 4.9 at about 1.35v and my fan still has trouble keeping the heat away from the 80s. I tried a 4.8 and it is still unstable at 1.275. I feel like I have been cheated, like I have gotten the worst chip for overclocking in the world. I see all of these reviews that show great overclocks and mine is stuck below average.

It is very sad when I play a CPU bound game like Battlefield one. I play at 120fps. When I overclock to 4.9 I can see values of 99% GPU utilization in my gtx 1080 often and the fps is quite steady and sometimes dips into the 90s. However, at stock speeds the 99% value scarcely seen and you have to watch the value for 10 seconds to see the 99% value. Now the fps drops to the 80s or even 70s resulting in large framerate swings.

It is so frustrating! At 4.9 or 5.0 I experience either game instability which happens every one to two hours or I get overheating issues where the temperatures go into the low 90s!!!

I don't know what to do. Perhaps I need to learn to delid my processor...

Am I going insane or is Battlefield One the most shittily optimized game in existence?

Battlefield One I believe takes advantage of loadsa cores, so it only runs wonderful on CPUs with 6-8 cores.
>>
>>58401564
what do you expect man?
>>
Intel probably finds the absolute highest binned chips off the line and gives them to reviewers for exactly this reason, to make idiots think you too can hit 5GHz on a stock cooler in a heatwave in Australia!
