I was using a 1090T at 4GHz for a while last year after selling my 4790K and was very impressed with how it held up in most gaymes. Dark Souls III had some drops into the 40s in the swamp and Irithyll, but it ran most modern stuff well (paired with a GTX 780). It was actually mostly older stuff like the original Witcher that ran like complete shit. The Witcher 2 ran perfectly though, because it uses more than one core.

I've a 965BE OC'd to 3.9 GHz (had it up to 4.1 for a while) with 8 GB 1866 MHz DDR3, a GTX 460, a pair of Crucial MX200 SSDs for OS installs plus a pair of 2 TB HDDs for data. It's a powerful daily driver for general productivity. Triple boots WinXP, Win7 and whatever version of linux I'm playing with this month.

Main downside for me is that it uses a fair bit of electricity, even though I've got a 212 cooling block on it and keep it under ~50 C most of the time.

It's not a gaymeme system and I don't do video rendering, plus I keep my installs lean & clean and my browsers block out 95% of all the autoplaying shit most major websites try to shove up my ass, so most pages load & display faster than I can blink..

I mean, fuck, I can only watch porn so fast.

I've got an 8350fx system also. For most general shit (web, email), I've got the 965 system fired up because it's a sacrificial machine ... I have no fucks to give if it gets a virus. I rarely need the power of an 8350, but I use it for watching hidef movies/gen music & multimedia (because that's the system with a better GPU & a nice soundcard connected to my stereo), some gaming (of which I do very little any more) and most offline activities.
