That's normal just turn off your power and restart, you'll know when your sound card dies because it will do screech, crackle and pop constantly or no audio at all

probably worth it for monster hunter. that was my justification for the wii u at least but ended up getting cucked because they only released mh3u (babbies first mh)
>>58389970
It may be a flop like the wii u. But $250 is a good deal.
When this hits 0 is the drive just going to die immediately?
Have any of you had SSDs fail on you? It's still performing fine.

Mine was January 2011. $200+ for a 64gb back then. How is it that you have 17438 power on hours with 100% health when mine has 25746 on hours yet is only at 19%?
My drive is MLC, it wasn't like it was a cheap piece of shit back then.
>>58389680
Worst case scenario, the drive becomes read only or the write speeds go to complete shit. I had a PNY drive that failed and I went from having 400+ MB/s writes to 3MB/s. The OS would stall anytime it wrote something.

You can do that with a $0.99 Bluetooth dongle from China

How expensive will it be? Knowing AMD and knowing that they will fuck up I'll say around 500$

If it is even close to as good as Intel's latest offerings, they will price accordingly.
If you seriously expect a competitive 8c16t for under $500 you are delusional.

Other business laptops are also welcome in /tpg/ (e.g. Dell Latitude/Precision, HP EliteBook/ZBook).
----
If you're looking for purchase advice, READ THE BUYERS GUIDE FIRST. Then post, stating budget and requirements (e.g. size and performance).
Don't buy anything OTHER THAN T, X AND W/P SERIES if you want the Real ThinkPad Experience™
Recommended models:
T420 - 14", normal size
X220 - 12.5", ultraportable
----
Why ThinkPad? (also applies to other business laptops)
>Used machines are plentiful and cheap.
>Excellent keyboards - tactile feel and quiet.
>Great durability: chassis uses a magnesium rollcage for structural integrity, with high quality plastic body panels.
>Utilitarian design: e.g. indicator LEDs, 7 row keyboard layout on older models.
>Docking stations that easily turns your laptop into a desktop.
>Easy to repair, upgrade and maintain thanks to readily available service manuals for every model. Spare parts are easy and cheap to obtain.
>The best trackpoint (that red thing in the middle of the keyboard). Great for those who type a lot or hate swiping their fingers all over a touchpad.
>Excellent GNU/Linux & *BSD support.

Hey /tpg/.
Is 225$ overpriced for an i7 SSD IPS x220?
I'm looking to purchase a thinkpad, and have been reading over the buyers guide. Why are all x220s so overpriced on eBay?

Post you're daily drivers.
I want a 90s workstation setup like that so bad, but it would slurp electricity and cost as much as it did when it was brand new.

For the unix wizards here, maybe you heard of Linux From Scratch, pretty cool project about making a an operative system from scratch, but you probably haven't heard of Linux From Script (https://www.lfscript.org/wiki/index.php/Main_Page), an automated way to that.
Very cool stuff for the hardcore looking to fight "the man" by being paranoid about every package you have in your machine.

im building a rig for serious number crunching, video editing, and some light gaming. i was wondering: are there really any advantages to using an SSD? the way i see it, mechanical watches are better, and mechanical keyboards are better, so heck, mechanical hard drives are probably better too. Anyway, if you could check out my build so far, I'd appreciate it!
