if you took an intel or amd cpu design and replace all the conventional semiconductors with high temperature superconductors, would there be a significant increase in performance?
i ask because i'm curious how superconductors will affect computing standards in the future. im not asking about quantum computing, rather current methods that just exploit the properties of superconductors.
>>58449996
Are you beyond retarded?
Are you fucking retarded? No, of course not. The chip would continue to function at the exact same clock frequency and compute the same number of maths a second.
>>58449996
Semiconductor has a variable resistance enabling it to act as a switch. Superconductor has no resistance. So I hope you want to compute 00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000.
>Told myself I'd learn a programming language or at least python or ruby or something easy in 2015
>Told myself I'd get on web development and finally start doing something productive in 2016
>Now 2017, still haven't done any of it don't even know where to start. Downloaded a bunch of programming books but just don't know
How do I doit guys.
How do I finally learn some webdev framework and start making something? I want to get a job instead of living with my parents working part-time fastfood forever. I don't even necessarily REQUIRE a job, I just want to do something productive.
go to a formal institute. you need someone to sit on your ass and force you to study.
otherwise you'll stay neet forever.
Maybe doing this sort of thing isn't what you're into. Try doing something that is interesting to you.
Get some 3-fpm or caffeine pills at very least and stop being such a weak faggot.
People fought in Stalingrad not that long ago and you can't even read a fucking book. Go watch how people likely younger than you were fighting to the absolute last tooth in chaos unthinkable.
If you don't have the genuine interest you will never make it successfully anyways, trust me on that. Take your time seriously, it's limited in every sense and you'll realize it more and more every year.
/g/ will defend this.
Enjoy your spyware.

>For Windows 10 Home and Pro editions, gone is the "enhanced" setting level, leaving users to select from the "basic" or "full" telemetry plans.
>"Full", on the other hand, sends over the "basic" level of slurping plus the old "enhanced" level and then even more information about your system. The "enhanced" level includes records of events generated by the operating system, bundled applications and devices, and some crash dumps.
>This "full" mode will also give Microsoft your "inking and typing data." Engineers, with permission from Microsoft’s privacy governance team, can obtain users' documents that trigger crashes in applications, so they can work out what's going wrong, from people's machines running in "full" mode. The techies can also run diagnostic tools remotely on the computers, again with permission from their overseers.
Even Microsoft now openly admits it looks through your files on your PC.

The Titan of power supplies

>Cooler Master is banking on there being an audience of system builders willing to fork over more than $1,000 for a special edition power supply, one that is manufactured in Japan and built exclusively with Murata components.
>Anyway, it packs copious power, an ARM-based digital signal processor, a next-generation 3D circuit design, Bluetooth support with the ability for users to toggle between the default +12V multi-rail or single-rail modes, and a 7-year warranty.
Is there any market for limited edition top of the line PSUs?
Well I just wanna start a discussion really

Anon,
two years ago i was a fucking web pleb and wrote everything in javascript. I wanted to grow! Get bigger and better! I learned clojure. But i didn like the jvm. So i switched to go and wrote some nice stuff. But go is lazy and allows you all this funky shit which will break in the end. So i want to switch to rust. But god damnit. Everything is so complex in this language. Everything looks somehow ugly. And even a simple web parsing witch different crates feels like so much work. Is it really worth it?
Sucks to be retarded.
Based off your spelling and grammar, I can tell you don't try hard enough. Syntax matters.
>>58449531
I agree that it's really ugly. It really shouldn't have taken syntax ideas from C++.
It also has some complicated things to deal with, such as the ownership/lifetime system.
I think it's a neat language with some neat ideas though.
How long would it take to go from know nothing newfag with no programming experience to learn enough to get a job as entry level code monkey?
I'm 30 with nogf or pets and live in my dads basement, if it helps.
>>58449511
Maybe about a year of 6-7 hours, five days a week
Should've gone to college you fat greasy fuck
>>58449555
Why bump? You got your answer. Kys, code monkeys are practically free with the tide of oajeets, and you don't seem to have the drive to be anything more if you haven't accomplished anything in 30 years.
>>58449542
>Should've gone to college you fat greasy fuck
I did but I dropped out.
Is Vivaldi any good?
I don't know, seems pretty friendly and customisable. I had been using Firefox for like 7 years but I just got tired. I don't see them improving with the new versions, quite the opposite.
So thoughts on Vivaldi?
Sorry my Pajeet tier English.
best browser
get brave instead
fuck off shill
Anyone else use Kodi? It's the best thing since popcorn time.

Post your addons.
Mine:
youtube
exodus
ccloud tv (shit)
sanctuary
f4mtester (needed by many live tv)
Works much better than VLC. The only thing I fucking hate is the small seekbar on phone.
>>58449462
>youtube addon
Does it let you watch your subscriptions?
Also any way to stream from kodi to xbone? (Fuck plex)
>Android is open source
>Linux is open source
Why can't someone make Android apps like MS office run on desktop Linux? I know MS office is closed source, but the OS it runs on isn't.
Someone do the same for grindr please
>>58449407
Because apps aren't open source and even though you can decompile them it isn't perfect, so it requires a lot of work to convert that into a working application.
If you don't know why it doesn't work that way then you don't belong on this board.
really makes you think

Department gets surplus, gotta use it on meanless shit or else they will get less money next time. They simply buy expensive laptops to ensure they get the same funding next time around. Office economics 101.

that's what happens when you're a publicly funded organization and don't give a shit about spending money efficiently because it isn't your money.

Hey /g/. What's the best tool for rendering a html page into a NICE READABLE EPUB OR PDF?
I'm specifically something like Readability:
https://github.com/luin/readability
Or the same presentation offered by Firefox Reader.
Ideally this would be done in one click; I CLICK -- newly rendered article gets fetched.
HALP

And next to my desk.
Removed the Christmas lights yesterday. They kept falling off, and I was getting rid of other holiday stuff in the rest of the house anyway. Kinda miss them though.
Also made a bit of a collage. There was a cool one from an anon on the last thread, so I thought about doing something similar. Not sure if I should add specs or whatever to it though, kinda like it simple.
