Is realizing that the entire Internet is a botnet and disconnecting from it permanently the ultimate red pill?
>>58497371

Hi,
I bought a new laptop for my daughter and it came with windows 10. Since she would like to have windows 8.1 on her laptop i was wonderling if it is possible to just erase (format) everything and use an windows 8.1 iso file to install the OS. Do i have to buy a win 8.1 key or is there a key on the new machine usually? Thanks for your help
It's possible, but if you want to not fuck around with keys just pirate it.
>>58497192
You have to buy a license key for Windows 8.1.
The Win 10 upgrade was a one time offer to elevate your Win7/8 keys for free activation. You can't downgrade the key.
Check at the back of the laptop, there should be an OEM license key, try using it to install 8.1 and good luck.
>>58497211
could you tell me whats an easy way to do so? or give some infomration where i could read about that process? Never done that before, but i guess you somehow have to generate a fake key to activate, dont you?
So I bought an old iPad mini that had quite a good sale on it. It's a pretty nice device desu.
Why haven't you embraced the almighty Apple yet?
>>58497163
Have fun doing absolutely nothing important on it.
>>58497163
because i don't want to trade my freedoms for...whatever this device offers that android tablets doesn't.
>>58497163

or a nice tablet
or even a phablet
gaaaahhhh why does technology have to be so orgasmic these days
>tfw everyone in the screenfetch threads have basically the same CPUs
>>58497133
>tfw the people who create screenfetch/speccy threads are 5-10 neets samefagging.
>>58497133
>>58497133
i think most have the same cpu's (or variations of K versions) because they are what they are,if something is of good spec at the right price its a no brainer people are going to buy it and use it,theres no originality in PC building, granted theres plenty of choice but it usually boild down to an i7 or i5 with high end gpu and whatnot, thats why aesthetics taking off, only realthing that seperates hardware anymore...
TL:DR- i just waffled on about we all use the same cuz its the best yadda yadda.
What the hell is this connection? I thought it was a 5 pin xlr but I got an adapter and it doesn't fit. How easy would it be to replace the end with a different type eg jack
>>58497131
It's a DIN plug. What's on the other end of the cable? Ive seen the connection used for:
IBM keyboards (pre PS/2)
Apple //c serial ports
AV out for the Sega Genesis, TG16, NeoGeo, Commodore 64, Atari 8bit computers
>>58497131
>>58497131
It is new senheiser headphone connected for 1700$ headphones that absolutely suck
Yeah, looks like an old AT keyboard plug for your 486 computer.
To hook up to the Bridgeport mill at work, I used a USB adapter to a PS2 adapter to the AT keyboard plug. I think somewhere in the jumble of cables I've got the parts to hook up to the serial mouse port but it's been a while since we had to trouble shoot that machine... I think it went to the warehouse after the die crib took over the maintenance shop.
why is quodlibet such underrated music player?
>>58497061
Heavy users need it. It can handle big libraries of muzak.
>>58497076
true, it handles my 15k files library just fine
>>58497061
too autistic name
>Reboot
>All my windows and extra desktops are laid out and restored to exactly the way they were before the reboot
Windows and Linux are so fucking far behind it's not even CLOSE. Holy SHIT.
XFCE has the option to save the previous session
>>58496989
so like... what are extra desktops for?
is that just a way to more efficiently hide your porn?
i do agree that this is nice. idk why windows doesnt implement it, it's a big reason why i dont shut down my PC anymore. i just dont want to start "fresh"
My cousin sold me this for 100 bucks, what do you think?
he conned you

Install Gentoo
>$100
>ITA
How much is that in Italian money?
Would you buy branded body parts in the future?
Of course. This body won't last forever.
AMD parts during winter, Nvidia parts during summer.
If they were superior in every way to my normal body parts, probably.
What is your opinion on debian. I'll be running XFCE, good choice? :)
>>58496969
Why not, double 69?
>>58496963
XFCE with debian is fine. Use what you are comfortable with, do't like it? Install a different DE/WM, that's the beauty of GNU/LINUX
Why are Android users so salty?
>>58496945
why are you so gay?
>>58496945
Living in poverty is very bad for your mental health due constant stress. Most Android users are also non white too and have to deal with the stress from racism. Show some fucking understanding.
Also sure more Applel users are homosexual but they are relatively wealthy, which helps a lot to deal with discrimination, also most are from a first world country so it's not that bad.
I've seen some bad bait but damn son, you took it to another level.
I can't find the fork people are talking about. I really liked using stylish and now that it sells my data.
*I can't trust it anymore
I don't see anyone talking about a fork. Just do it yourself you lazy fucker.
>>58496931
Just inject whatever style you need via a userscript, there are tons of examples.

https://theintercept.com/2017/01/13/obama-opens-nsas-vast-trove-of-warrantless-data-to-entire-intelligence-community-just-in-time-for-trump/
>WITH ONLY DAYS until Donald Trump takes office, the Obama administration on Thursday announced new rules that will let the NSA share vast amounts of private data gathered without warrant, court orders or congressional authorization with 16 other agencies, including the FBI, the Drug Enforcement Agency, and the Department of Homeland Security.
>The new rules allow employees doing intelligence work for those agencies to sift through raw data collected under a broad, Reagan-era executive order that gives the NSA virtually unlimited authority to intercept communications abroad. Previously, NSA analysts would filter out information they deemed irrelevant and mask the names of innocent Americans before passing it along.
>Executive Order 12333, often referred to as “twelve triple-three,” has attracted less debate than congressional wiretapping laws, but serves as authorization for the NSA’s most massive surveillance programs — far more than the NSA’s other programs combined. Under 12333, the NSA taps phone and internet backbones throughout the world, records the phone calls of entire countries, vacuums up traffic from Google and Yahoo’s data centers overseas, and more.
Land of the free*
Haha, what?
I was expecting to see a theonion.com address there.
But really, this is just a legalisation of what they were already doing. I mean really, you think it's a coincidence that they're IMMEDIATELY ready to start doing this before even knowing if it'll pass?
Or is it more likely that they've been doing it for years anyway
USA is the darkest timeline
I expect lots of leaks.
