What the hell is this connection? I thought it was a 5 pin xlr

What the hell is this connection? I thought it was a 5 pin xlr but I got an adapter and it doesn't fit. How easy would it be to replace the end with a different type eg jack

It's a DIN plug. What's on the other end of the cable? Ive seen the connection used for:
IBM keyboards (pre PS/2)
Apple //c serial ports
AV out for the Sega Genesis, TG16, NeoGeo, Commodore 64, Atari 8bit computers

Yeah, looks like an old AT keyboard plug for your 486 computer.

To hook up to the Bridgeport mill at work, I used a USB adapter to a PS2 adapter to the AT keyboard plug. I think somewhere in the jumble of cables I've got the parts to hook up to the serial mouse port but it's been a while since we had to trouble shoot that machine... I think it went to the warehouse after the die crib took over the maintenance shop.

It could be a MIDI cable. Is it the same connection on both ends of the cable?
