Why aren't there any male voiced AI assistants?

I find the shrill, high pitched automated female voices cringeworthy. Choosing a deep, pleasant baritone should be an option.

This is sexism, plain and simple.

You can change the voices on any of those services.

>This is sexism, plain and simple.
This is true. Having only a choice of females as assistants *is* sexism.

Now that you mention it, a Jarvis type voice would be pretty cool

That's some quality.

for college students out there, is a 15.6" too much to carry around classes comfortably?

I currently have a 13.3" Spectre (last years model, 6th gen i7, 8GB, 256) but the return policy ends tomorrow and im thinking of swapping it for the 15.6" lenovo with the same specs besides a 7th gen i5 and a dedicated nvidia 940mx gpu. same price to swap them out, so that's not really an issue, but ill be using it for graphic design and video processing on the go, as well as taking it to class to read the books from so I'm not sure whether the small size of the spectre is better or the larger display and GPU is a better option. i have a good PC at home already for heavier editing though so I'm kinda stuck here. would appreciate your thoughts on it.

I carry a Lenovo T460s everyday for work and school. It's a little smaller than what you're looking at but i don't think the extra 1.6" will really matter... i would say go for it if you think it's worth it and have room in your bag. My brother has a MSI GS63VR with a similar screen size to the one you're looking at and he says it's fine, and works really well for his classes. 15.6" isn't too extreme.

Honestly, just speculation.

As much as I hate Apple products and their Cult of Personality I seriously doubt a portable handheld device can cause a fire sufficient to bring down an aircraft inside the cabin. The flight attendants have training for dealing with fires, it was a relatively short flight (not like everyone would fall asleep) so it is likely such a fire would be noticed quickly, maybe even before it is detected by smoke alarms, and it isn't like they wouldn't have been able to call in an emergency on the route they were on, unlike flights over the Atlantic or Pacific.

Just searching the flight number gets me some results of news that traces of TNT/explosives were found on the wreckage months ago so this sounds more like feeding the exploding phones fear.

If your computer comes with this port, it's time to upgrade that old chunk of shit you have sitting on your desk. it's been deprecated ages ago, grandpa, and you should get something that has at least a DVI instead. Even DVI can't drive high=pixel-count displays anymore so you're better off with DP and/or HDMI.

But seriously, VGA is as useless as tits on a bull today. Nothing made recently comes with that port and it can't even handle 4K displays.

So, my dear poorfag or grandpa, upgrade.

Why do people never give roll your own as an answer? Just get a vps in some other country and run something like ethersoft in a docker instance. Takes like 10 mins to set up and gives you the option to have other shit too

The best VPN is probably buying a house in thailand or africa or something and place a server in your house and use it as VPN from where you are now

Will running 4k ever be worth it for someone who uses a computer for non productivity tasks? The resolution seems to be far too small for even a 30 inch screen to get the proper benefit out of.

What ad-blocker do you use and why?

Heard that adblockplus has been comprised (sells your info & ads now)

Adblock Plus. It's the only adblocker that actually blocks ads instead of just hiding them.

Hmm do you mean that the comp will still load the ads just hide them? And that ABP just blocks the ads so the computer will have to load less data?
>>
>>58488407
Yes. Adblock Plus actually blocks them from loading but the other ones just inject code into the browser so it doesn't display the ads.

Hi /g/, I don't know where else to ask this.

How hard would it be to build a minimalist car stereo like the one pictured? Maybe with a volume knob as well? I don't think I can just buy something like that

Thanks

Used to have just an amp and crossover under the seat with a single 1/8" connector cable coming up through the seats. No stereo in the dash at all.
