5 day upper lower (I have an easy semester and lots of free time)

Day 1 - glute/ham focus lower body
1x5 deadlift
3x10 romanian deadlift
3x10 hip thrust
5x5 leg press
3x15 lunge

Day 2 - upper body
5x5 db shoulder press
3x10 lat pull down
1x failure push ups
3x10 cable row
3x10 tricep push down

Day 3 - quad focused lower body
5x5 squat
3x10 machine hack squat
3x5 front squat

Day 4 -upper body
same as day 2

Day 5 - glute/ham focus lower body
5x5 barbell hip thrust
3x10 romanian deadlift
3x10 hamstring curl
5x5 leg press
3x15 lunge

I don't really care about upper body to be honest. I want to tone up my triceps and upper back but from my understanding that has more to with being lean than lifting. This is why the upper body days are kinda half assed.

I just want nice legs and ass more than anything else.

What goes into being able to do this? This right here is the goal. Not the body, the ability. All I want to do is use my core strength to go from a kneeling position to a full handstand and then do a push-up.
Where do you start? Does this ability come naturally after a lot of strength training? If anyone can do this can you tell me what goes into training to do this kind of thing?

Holding a clean handstand for an extended period is obviously required.

.9 x bodyweight OHP is required, although you don't necessarily have to train this.

Basic tuck planche is required.
I started out with a great foundation of bodyweight strength and could do it within a week where I did 5 minutes of hand balancing a day after lifting.

Just practice different advanced yoga movements and watch Ido Portal videos. Emulate what you can and the rest will fall into place.

if you want to do handstand presses, without any help and maintain a proper straight form, start EASY.


the FORM is the most important here, form and controle. NOT strenght.

So try handstands against a wall, and practice untill you are familiar with the pose (maybe record yourself to see how straight (or not) your back is) THen increase time, make your body comfortable upside down. Then try handstands without a wall, try to JUST STAY UP. meaning you can move about, move your hands, 'walk on your hands alone' although its not walking, its just trying to not fall over.

the pushup is easy to do when you can master the handstand, if you dont have enough strenght, practice against the wall again.

I've been lifting for about three years now, I change up my routine once a month and I also run distance twice a week. I've noticed since last spring however that my right side is getting noticeably larger and stronger than my right. What the fuck do I do to stop this? I'm getting super self-conscious about it.
