Does /fit/ have any advice for patellar tendonitis? I've had it since I was like 13, but I don't hit the gym and lift like I used to when I was playing football and it's back and quite annoying. I don't feel confident on it.

I got to Navy Basic on Jan 12th and I'd like to be far more confident on it to be at my best.

Yeah I can't squat while I'm in season or my knees get fucked up.

If you have had it chronically then you need to fix that because it's an issue. Some stuff that's helped me:

>stretching everything from hips down
>fish oil
>massage
>topical NSAIDs (don't take oral meds for this regularly, there are other worse effects like stomach damage)

in particular make sure you've mobilized the IT band, massaged the VMO, and the rectus femoris. Compression while lifting helps, and I generally like to use compression pants + knee sleeves.

Pic related stretches out the tendon in a good way, making it track a little smoother.

What does your typical day's eating consist of /fit/? Calorie #?

Me: Porridge, Chicken stir fry, small chocolate bar (230 cal), stewed apples, 2 boiled eggs, protein shakes

I have a real sweet tooth and I can't abandon eating candy/chocolate/hot chocolate once a day. I normally set aside 300 calories for this kind of eating

the results have been amazing so far, lower bf %, breaking PRs, not depressed anymore, waking up fresh in the morning.

Alcohol is a poison and you can only quit cold turkey. And the good news is it's only gonna suck for the first 3 days or so.

fucking hell /fit/... I swear you guys are pathetic sometimes, but then I remember according to polls, most of you have been lifting for less than 2 years

Hey OP, how about you try ending your lifting sessions with 30minutes of high intensity cardio. Do this for just one week and that might help you get that stupid idea out of your head.

Cardio is god-tier for losing weight and overall health, you've fallen for the "cardio kills gains" meme.
