Hey /fit/ I'm going to have access to a big swimming pool this summer and I'd like to get into a swim exercise routine. Do any of you guys swim and if so what do you do in the pool?

6' 200lbs. right now I've mostly been dieting and losing weight since September (if that helps at all)

-Frontcrawl/butterfly, if you know how, (For sprints.)

Another great addition is doing resistance training with a flutterboard in front of you to build up your power. Most pools have clocks that you can use to time yourself while doing sprints, google flip turns to help reduce your times too. (If you're in a 25 meter pool, but by big I would assume you mean a 50 m Olympic sized pool.

Front crawl/Butterfly sounds like something I can do in between doing breastroke. Used to do cross country running in school with sprints so this sounds like a swimming equivalent.

Thats not a little stubborn fat, thats 20% +. Cut to 10% bf, where you can see all your abs.

You build muscle more efficiently under 15%, so cut to 10%, bulk to 15% rinse and repeat.

Hey /fit/, I've been lifting for about 8 months now, and when I first started, for about 2-3 weeks I was sore because my body was adjusting and DOMS was setting in, but then I rarely ever got sore afterwards on a 3 day/week regime of lifting. But most of the guys I know that I box with and go to Uni with are always complaining about being sore after hitting legs they day before, or something the like. Is it normal to be constantly sore after workouts? Or are they just lying about being sore/going to the gym?

Is that really true though? I hit legs every week as part of a 3 day split and I still get sore. Granted I'm either increasing reps or increasing weight each session. And I also don't do enough stretching afterwards.

God Tier cutting foods thread.

Found out about Halo Top Ice Cream the other day.....oh lawd. 240 calories per pint and 24g of protons.

If I ever am craving sweets I just eat that and you can easily fit 250 calories in.

Anything else like this? Homemade recipes welcome.

There was actually an expose about these low calorie desserts (arctic zero was another tested) and found they were off about the calorie counts by much as 40%. Still healthier than reg ice cream, but not a miracle food by any means.

I'll admit that I can't lift as much weight as you guys can.

I spent my teenage years fucking hot underage girls, playing guitar like a master, organizing charity events, going to interesting places with friends, saving money, and studying hard so I could actually accomplish something in my life.
While a lot of guys developed muscles, I developed my social and artistic skills and then, because of all that book learnin' and saving I did, I went on to university.
I didn't have time to lift weights, play sports, etc.

I do have time to get fit now that I'm an adult, except the difference is that I have a huge network of friends, contacts, an education, and a lifetime of good experiences, rather than just spending my best years in a musty workout room, and in a couple years I'll be more fit than most of the people who took the other route, since they seem to mostly end up working shitty jobs in construction, policing, etc and eventually letting themselves go.

I suppose what I'm saying is: Fuck you. I can only bench 1 plate, right now, but I can LIFE way fucking harder than most of you faggots ever will, and those gains don't go away after you've got them.

I like Dave's killer bread. I'm not generally one for the "muh organics" bullshit, but it's really decent bread.

Mind you, I haven't had any in moths because at the end of the day, bread is just wasted calories, but if I had to pick one I'd say that's it.

Generally, if I have to wrap/cover something, I use a tortilla now. I forget the brand, but my grocery store carries one that's got something like 20 grams of fiber, and works out to around 60 calories per wrap. Much more reasonable that 120 calories a slice.

Global company, top tier of what my industry does. We have 3 very modern looking power racks, but unfortunately each rack only has two of each weight, 5-45lbs - so we have 3 sets of each. They're plastic coated plates. Our oly bars weigh 46.5lbs.

I ordered a shaker cup and 5lbs of Optimum Nutrition Double Chocolate whey protein. I can request more plates later, company will provide. Already requested a chalk stand and some floor protection so we can do deadlifting, it was on order within 2hrs.

I have a digital copy of SS I'm reading. I got through the squats portion so I tried them.

I started with stretches like Rip says, getting familiar with the position. My body likes a wider stance, but my femurs track over feet so I think I'm fine. I then went to the bar. Couldn't keep from falling backwards - I'm trying to visualize bar path over midfoot and make sure I incline my torso, I have a good baseboard behind the rack to focus on. I got about 60-70% of my intended practice reps done with what I would call good form and full musculature involvement.

When I added two 10s, that changed. I am obviously weak but I found myself falling into the safety bars more than half of my attempts.

I also did other stuff.

Correct on the bad form - I figure if I didn't at least try to knock out some, I would never have the strength to do any. And I'm not sure how else I could do something that would engage my spinal erectors and core musculature while also training the UB musculature that would eventually get me to the point of clean BB row reps.
