This is not too fit related but maybe few of you have experienced same difficulties as i have. Last week I started going to gym with a friend of mine. He is kinda fat but he has worked out before and I am a skeletor. I'm doing SS routine. Everytime I go to the gym I immediatelly go to squat rack, do my squats then other exercises. He just goes around, does 1 set of probably every possible exercise for bicepses, tricepses, and forearms. Basically by the time I am done with all my primary lifts (for example squats, dl, chinups). He has done nothing. I come to him and ask him what has he got left, he says everything; he is just done warming up. Mind you, this is after some 30 minutes of being in the gym. Then he keeps telling me which muscle i have not worked out this day and why my routine and diet is bad. I tell him to learn something about diet and exercise (i have linked sticky to him several times) but he keeps saying that I should train by that because some meathead344 wrote it.
I mostly just ignore his advices on my routine but really he is my friend and I dont want to come off like a complete jackass. What can I do to spend my time waiting for him usefully?
tl;dr: What are some "harmless" exercises that I can do after every day of SS besides those that are written there? I literally only need to fill time before my friend is ready to leave the gym.

Why are you going to the gym with him? You have completely different goals and methods. A gymbro is someone that at least shares a similar goal and has overlap in methodology, so that there is some synergy in exercising together. Someone that flaps around circuit training will lose interest and stop regardless of what you do or say, but it's like telling them they chose the wrong major -- they'll never listen to your input until they have the advantage of hindsight.

Hey /fit/, I have a problem.

I have lost 95 lbs, from 300 -> 205 at 6'4". I'm finishing up my last diet which should put me at 200lbs. My family and coworkers were initially supportive of my efforts but now are starting to see me as crazy or something. I still have a good amount of bodyfat, my bmi is just at the cusp of being healthy. I have muscle but am not ripped by any means.


The thing is, it's like I'm an aneroxic or something. Family or coworkers will offer me unhealthy food and I'll bring up my diet only for them to say "why are you dieting?!" or "I don't think you need to lose anymore weight." As a man on a journey to leave the human race behind, I don't know how to respond to this. I definitely would like to lose about 10-15 more lbs and then bulk up. But everyone around me is making this very difficult. I've gone from having a lot of support to none of it.

How do I deal with these people?

You listen to their concerns, sit them down and talk them out. 200 lbs at 6'5 is pretty normal, and cutting lower than that is treading in skelly land. Post your current body and let's evaluate the situation.

Perhaps. A fit body can spark an initial attraction. But it's how you act that will seal the deal. Show confidence and charisma and she is yours. If you sperg out and don't know what to say then the nice body can only get you so far.

Unless of course you have a 10/10 model-tier face to go along with your fit body. Then women will pursue you even if you're an autist.

I have a bmi of 24.5 and want to build a good lookong body.My goal is to look good on clothes and be able to go to the beach stress-free.I am going to start going to the gym by the 7th of June and I am certain that I will be able to go everyday.I wish to know how mich time will I need to reach my goal,what diet I should follow and what exactly I should do at the gym.

for looking good in clothes, the most important parts to work on are traps, delts, chest and arms. dips and lateral raises are your friend.

for beach you need to work on everything, and you're a mess. you need to cut til you can see your abs (while lifting weights the whole time with an actual program, like texas method or strong lifts), and only once you have abs start a lean bulk.

you need to actually plan out your diet and exercise though, just randomly eating whatever and jumping on some machines at the gym isn't going to do anything but disappoint you.

Yeah. Just cut slowly. I've personally done it.

It won't happen if you're in a rush to cut though.

When I had been lifting for 3 years I did a really slow cut and went from 198 to 173 (5'7") over like 9 months and maintained all of my strenght and even gained some on some lifts like deadlifts, weighted pull-ups etc.

I was cutting at like 2.3-2.5k calories though.

ah , i just maintained, but thats still a strength increase overall if you think about it because i was still squatting and benching the same at 173 that i was at 198. 25lbs less bodyweight with same lifts is still relative increase.

Skinnyfat here. How do I get better pecs? Will it come naturally with lifting?

I have pecs like pic related. After 1 month of lifting I notice minimal changes mostly in my arms/back.

My gym is limited and I go for 30-40 minutes 3-4 times a week.

I usually do

Lat pulldowns
Tricep pulldowns
Rows
Bicep curls
30-40 pushups
Hammer curls/flies

Fuck man I just want to have flatter pecs. I want to make it.
