The best exercise to improve the bench press is the bench press. Variations (tng/paused, spoto, close/wide grip) can be helpful to address weak points but if you're blaming Rippetoe you're new enough that you probably just need to bench more. If you're not benching 3 times a week do that for a few months and come back.

I started with SS and switched to SL 5X5 and my bench is only 115 and my squat and DL are 215 / 255 respectively. My OHP and Row are under 100 as well. I just feel disproportionate and want to supplement my upper body better.

I had to stop squatting because my knees were becoming sore, and now I can't do even do assisted bodyweight squats with weights under my heels while holding onto something without my knees feeling pressure even though im breaking at the hips and pushing my knees out so they don't collapse inward. I'm also standing with a wide stance with my toes pointed outwards. My adductors are really sore too when I do squats, and I feel like I am not going to make progress because my knees will get injured. Is this just normal pain and do I push through it to develop my knees more? Should i try knee sleeves? Why are my knees sore just by doing body weight squats? I'm only a few weeks into SL

I've signed up to do a10k in 6 months time. And then in 1 years time, a full marathon.
As it's UK, and winter, can I get some recommendations on clothing for running?
Shorts and t-shirts don't seem to cut it in this weather.

As for the weather in the UK. Go to a store and ask them what to get. For winter I wear multilayer stuff. A windbreaker / waterproof jacket keeps the heat inside when it's getting cold and the wind outside. I also have a longsleeve that is made for colder times.

Shoulda stuck a half in there. The jump between a half and full marathon is pretty big, 10k to marathon in 6 months is a big leap. If you get through training witthout injury, You can finish but your body might not like you afterwards. I wouldn't expect a great time either. If your older or not already in good shape, this could be a very bad idea.
