Goin to a boxing gym for the first time tomorrow, what should I know? I've played sports before (rugby football track powerlifting, I swim etc) so I'm pretty athletic. I have long arms and around 5'11 200lbs. But I'm lean , use to hover around 180. Sure I could get back to that
But a nigga lazy since I stopped playing sports.

do as much sparring as you can, but leave your ego at the door. at 200lbs, you probably can beat some of the people there just by being strong and resilient, but there is no point, you are not gonna learn anything like that. when you spar, focus on technique. on your first classes you will learn all the proper punches and all the basic ways to defend agaisnt the basic punches. when you spar, focus on defending exactly like you learned. it's difficult at first beause your instinct tells you to block all over the place and swing wildly, but on the long run you'll be glad tyou developed the right reflexes.

I've had a few "fights" basically sparring fucking around and just swinging wildly with the boys attempting to hit each other as hard as possible with the gloves. So I get ya on that I'm gonna try and go straight by the books before branching out so I don't learn bad habits.

If I'm not competing, what reason do I have to use lifting shoes rather than squatting barefoot? I'm not sure if oly/non-oly lifting shoes would allow me to squat heavier, but doesn't going barefoot force one to be more flexible and, thus, contribute better to overall health and fitness? In essence, barefoot squat is to lift dying shoe squat as lifting shoe squat is to leg press: more weight, less benefit in isolation?
If your goal is Oly WL or PL, use them. If not, just flat shoes are much better.

How could you be so ignorant? Heeled shoes make up for a lack of ankle dorsiflexion and might allow some lifters to hit depth easier, among other things. They also have hard soles and offer a high amount of stability. They have nothing to do with whether you plan to compete or not, although thwy are generally required to perform the olympic lifts (well). Flat shoes are not 'much better'.

Regardless the biggest part of his transformation was using more calories than he ate and lifting during that time. Not his magical brosplit he made up in his head with no programming knowledge.
Most experts agree that full body strength programming 3 days a week is best for beginners but do a split if you want. Just don't complain if you are weak/small by the end of it.
Just make sure to be pushing the weight up and EAT LESS THAN YOU USE.

I have been seriously considering roiding for a while now, but I was wondering what /fit/ thought. My biggest barrier to roiding was balding and age, but I have a pretty bad receding hairline that gets worse literally by the day so I am pretty sure that's a lost cause at this point, and I am 22 so I don't have to worry about my developing body getting fucked from roids. Now I am pretty split on the topic. Here's my current breakdown on pros and cons:
Pros:
>getting joocy fast and maintaining low bf easier
>looking aesthetic from muscle, low bf, and tren face for the sloots
>supposedly you feel fucking great on cycle
>fix low self esteem about body
>lifts fucking exploding
>can eat more to fuel those bulging muscles
>lots of energy for everything (really looking forward to that, I've always been tired and lethargic even with full sleep, exercise, and good diet)
Cons:
>have to have a pretty involved med spread for a safe cycle (currently looking at test E, hcg, dbol, AI, PCT, and tren)
>costs for the cycle, supps, and clothing
>questions about how I got so big so fast, especially from family
>accelerating the balding that very well could just be a "matured" hairline as a natty
>no drinking and stricter diet control
>have to fuck with dosing and injections twice a week or more
>have to cut to a pretty low bf before starting (is this one really necessary?)
>blood tests

I was under the impression that time lifting wasn't important as long as you didn't increase your weights lifted too fast? Although I have about 6 years lifting experience, I came off of a bad sickness and injury so I'm lmao no gains at the moment with only about 4 months solid lifting since I recovered.
