Hey /fit/, I'm a fat guy but when I tried doing running my legs got sore after. Is it OK to drink protein shakes even though I'm 5'8 320lbs?

Tell us your diet and exercise regiment and we can tell you if protein shakes fit in. I'm assuming you're trying to lose weight? I'm not sure exactly what you mean by protein shakes (there are many variations) but replacing any of your daily calories with ones from protein over fat or carbs is gonna help you lose weight. Just don't drink them as an extra snack, use them as meal replacements.

Imho you weight to much to run (or even jog). Focus on losing weight and walk or swim.

I do a PHUL based routine, so on the first upper body day, I do 4x6 rows and 3x8 pullups. On the second upper day I do 3x12 T-bar rows and 3x12 lat pulldowns. On the second lower body day, I do 4x6 diddly.

Dr Gregor is full of shit and misrepresents data from studies. The level of bias is unreal. I am vegetarian myself but it is purely an ethical issue, there is no science showing that there are benefits to being vegetarian or vegan and there is data suggesting they suffer from mental health issues.
Damn near every vegetarian I've met is overweight or obese and have shitty diets. Same way meat eaters can have shit diets, moderation and sensible food choices are what matter.
If anyone has data showing veganism or vegetarianism has intrinsic benefits over a balanced meat eaters diet I'd like to see it. Red meat gets a lot of flak but isn't a requirement to be a meat eater as they could just have chicken. I've seen differences in various markers but no proof that they have any real meaning to an individuals health.
