Hello guys.
Recently I've been inducing a lot of change in my life - a lot of improvement - and I've decided to use some of the time previously spent with vices working out, and hopefully becoming a /fit/izen myself. My goal is not to become a body builder, but I want to be lean and muscular enough to look good, and to be the fantasy of some chick out there. I already read some things about both workouts and eating healthy, but I have a few questions.
My baseball stats first:
>23 yo
>53.7 kg
>1.75m (5.7 ft)
>Shitty posture
>The least amount of muscle a "functional" human bean can have
>The least amount of fat a non-anorexic, non-african person can have
>Haven't touched sports for like 3 years, never was a sports guy.
>No gim/cardio/weight lifting experience
>About 5"
My biggest concern right now is in my weight. I'm thin, and my diet, while not complete trash, is not the best either; I know very little about food and where what I need comes from, and I feel it'd take some time to get that down. Should I leave working out aside for now and just focus on eating healthier and gaining some weight, or should I just jump on both things at once? Pic related is me currently, btw; no bully pls.
Second question is: should I work out even if I'm sick (with a flu, or something like that), or should I rest until fully recovered? What about medication and the like? How bad is it to miss a day because of something like that?
Other than that, any advice would be appreciated. I'll also be recording my progress as I go, so I can make a "made it" thread one or two years from now; but one step at a time.
Eat a lot and go to the gym, its just sticking to it that people struggle with.

The google converter does it weird, you're 5'9, or as google says 5 feet and 70% of another foot
Peanut butter and milk are god tier for calories and protein
Chicken and beef is best for straight protein with small amounts of calories.
Find a beginner routine that work for YOU, what some people find enjoyable and progressing might not work for others.
Motivation is key for staying healthy.
Work out when sick, but do less or oyu might over-exert yourself and hurt yourself from being dizzy.
You have a nice frame, good starting point.

My advice for you is to ask again when you have read the fucking sticky. Idiot

Poo in loo
I just ate 1000 calories worth of chips, but my goal was 1200 calories. So I ate 800 calories more than I should and I'm about to go to sleep.
Please tell me tell me that the calories in/calories out thing isn't just a meme
>>39641240
Well, you better fast tommorrow, you fat fuck.
1200 target? why so low? which is your deficit? Are you lifting?
>>39641240
Are 5'6 fatty?
favourite exercise thread
for me its leg curls
hamstring feel so nice being worked
ohp or farmers walks. nothing better than having good looking shoulders in a long sleeve shirt
>>39641133
Neutral grip pullups for me. I'm always happy to incorporate pullups into my routine and these are the easiest on my wrists by a large margin
Back squat, bench press and pull-ups.
Worst exercises are front squat (hurts elbows and cant breathe), deadlift (makes bruises to my feet) and good morning (it's a fucking hell to a person, who isn't stretchy).
So, the new Spiderman trailer dropped today and Tom Holland is otter mode af.
How long would u say it could take to get this physique?
>>39641041
2 pullups every wednesday
>>39641041
Lift for 1.5 years and then cut for 4 months.
going from skelly to this could happen in like 3 months with drugs or like 1 year natty
How much and how long does a woman have to lift to become stronger than the average non lifter male?
>>39640965
a woman would have to be close to olympic strength level to be stronger than a normal working man (millennials don't count as men)
>>39640965
women can never be stronger than the average male.
Not in terms of real strength
Men on average have shoulders that are 3 inches broader, wrists that are a half inch thicker, larger ribcages, are taller, and carry more muscle and testosterone.
Average woman could lift natty for 10 years and never hit 1/2/3/4 plates while average man could hit those in 6-12 months.
>>39641025
Maybe 4 inches broader and 1 inch thicker wrists, actually
Hey /fit/izens. I stopped exercising a decade ago. I mostly just get my workout from construction work. I want to get into some actual focused training. I'm aiming for strength and some moderate definition. Here's where I am now.
Any gym suggestions for Seattle, or from the photo, areas I should focus on?
Currently stand at 6'3" at 240.

READ THE FUCKING STICKY YOU FAT, UGLY, WORTHLESS PIECE OF TRASH.
>>39640924
read the post faggot, asking questions not in the sticky
>>39640915
your core is fat, you need to get that down which is all diet. Your traps and shoulders are small (if you're looking for the yoked look) so you should probably deadlift, bench press, and maybe work on those legs with some squats.
What is some low intensity cardio at home that I can do, without any equipment.

running on the spot lmao

Go for a walk, take a jog, whatever.
Im at a crossroads here fit,
ever since I started lifting ive been researching the greats (reg park, Arnold etc.) and it seemed that they got big and aesthetic by compound movements.
now on the other hand I come here and talk to gym bros and they swear the only way you can put on some admirable size is splits or roids, and compound movements will only net you strength and not size.
which one is it. Cause I dont want to waste my time if im trying to look like "pic related".
(shit even when i asked in a earlier thread about how to look like pic related they said to maintain high levels of dick suck and lift heavy)
>>39640661
They got big on steroids and lifting heavy shit. Everything else is a fucking meme. Lift weights in various ways + take steroids + time = get huge. Faggot.
>>39640676
i dont have access to roids.
theres more to lifting then just lifting heavy shit, you and i both know this. i cant just go into the gym and start slamming benches around and expect positive results like the ones im after.
im just trying to get an understanding of where i should go from here....it used to be about numbers for me...but i dont know any more man.
>>39640661
Volume + Roids + proper nutrition
Why are /fit/fags obsessed with getting big? Why aren't more /fit/ people fighters? I'd rather have wins under my belt than really big arms or whatever.
You'll never be Rich Pina-colada, but I'm sure you could win a match or two.
>>39640638
Why not?
>>39640645
Nothing against getting big, just curious as to why fighting isn't more popular. By all means get huge.
>>39640638
Because autism brah
What's your excuse for not doing POBAD (Pound Of Bacon A Day)?
I've started this and found it supplements GOMAD well for adding more bulking fat and protein to my diet.
>>39640568
I'm a vegetarian.
I did this shit once.
Worked pretty well with my keto desu.
>>39640568

Long story short I am training to be a scout sniper and I've run into somewhat of a road block. In order to perform at the top of my class I need to be able to run 20+ miles with a 50 lb ruck as well as my rifle and full cammies. The weight isn't the hard part actually, believe it or not. The main problem I'm running into is chafing. I chafe in places I didn't think were possible. Keep in mind I'm a large individual (for you). Just under 200 lbs at 5'11".
So I can run 10+ miles absolutely no problem. But at 15 miles the chafing starts to become in issue. I chafe in my thighs, armpits, and lower back where my ruck secures around my hips. It wouldn't be a problem finishing a single event except I have to perform for days and weeks at a time and the chafing is truly unbearable. I'm also afraid of infection due to being out in the field for extended periods of time.
I've tried compression shorts, Vaseline, corn starch (all so far have actually made it worse). Please help, I don't want my career to be ended because I'm chafing in between my massive thunder thighs.
Tl;dr how to stop chafing
Shameless self bump
>>39640685
Thx for the bump bro I'll just post this thread tomorrow
Wtf is up with the mods deleting all the image files lately? Most images give me the 404 error
Also OP if you're still on hmu with a reply. I'm a medic and I can lay it down for you
Today on my last set on bench my muscles weren't fully exhausted, but it was too painful to continue. My 4th set was fine but the next rep was like my pecs were tearing apart. What gives /fit/
n.b. my pee is clear so it's not rhabdo
>>39640510
Only thing that comes to mind is lactic acid but at only 5 reps per set I don't think the burn from lactic acid is going to do much. Maybe your form slipped
>>39640575
How do you know it was 5 reps per set
Whats the best method of measuring body fat? I know there are skinfold calipurs and just using a tape measurer, but what about those hand held BMI calculators? are they just bs?
Jump around and see if you jiggle
>>39640381
Kek, thanks for this mental image.
Body composition scan. It's an xray for your entire body. Measures bf%, total muscle weight and distribution, bone density, tdee, and other shit.
>mfw my skeleton weighs 15.7lbs
>need to make bone density gains
Is having one of these around worth it?
>>39640337
Bump, would like to know as well
>>39640337
Can't hurt.
Depends how you wanna use them. I used to keep one on my computer desk to squeeze absent mindedly. But if you're actively working out you can find better means of working your forearms.
What ever you do don't get an adjustable one tho. Mine broke after 2 fucking weeks.
