Hey fit I've been cutting and tracking my calories every day for almost the last month now but my bodyweight has been mostly the same. I'm not sure if I'm just eating more than I think, myfitnesspal gave me 1500 calories a day to lose 2 lb a week. I'm 200 lb male, between 30-25% bodyfat, been lifting seriously for a little over a year, I hit the gym 3 to 4 times a week, I do cardio. I've noticed my strength is stalling on my major lifts. Not sure if I'm just spinning my wheels or if it's just a super slow process and I'm being impatient. Advice is welcome.

Cutting is hard brah. It's not all about weight either. My caloric intake has been more or less the same (at a deficit) but I've been slowly gaining weight. My lifts are going up and I'm seeing results interns of looking more juicy tho.

Can we have a hair loss thread. Is anyone here taking measures to save their hair if they're losing it? I want to believe I won't end up like my father one day. Bald and alone.

I am a full time student at University of Houston and they are closing the entire fucking gym from Dec 23 until New Years. I'm doing SL and loving it but this will obviously fuck with what progress I've made. Does anyone know of gyms in the Houston area that I pay as I go? If not, what are some home exercises I can do to make sure my gains aren't lost?

Don't sweat it dude, just take the week off. It's sometimes good to take a week off anyways to let the little injuries heal etc. some dudes take 1-2 weeks off lifting every year and still make great progress.

perhaps add chest flies or pushups to push day
also rotate the compound you start with on push days, one push do chest first, next push do shoulders first. maybe once in a while start with tris.
maybe on push day, start with a horizontal pull, next pull start with vertical pull
legs i always start with squats, but i sometimes emphasize hammies

Preacher curls get the most mass for me.

Triceps need some more focus, they can really handle a lot (dips are bad for them though). If you have a cable machine do the overhead extentions with rope and focus on explosiveness.

Why not swap out the rows every other session (t-bar, pendalay, kroc) to see what works best for you.

Consider more abs and wrist isolation so people don't call you DYEL in a shirt.

I want to begin this thread with a roughly accurate disclaimer:

You do not need NoFap if you masturbate once a month or less

It is my belief that pornography, and masturbation as well, cause us to become complacent with our lives. Our energy and motivation is drained through masturbation/sex. We don't notice this effect so much with sex because we aren't having sex 5 times a day. Our libido is a good thing, but we use it incorrectly. I have grown to hate my "high" libido and curse myself for masturbating 5-6 times a day. But the reality is that I simply needed to redirect that energy elsewhere. My libido wasn’t naturally high, I just spent that energy all on PMO when it could’ve been put towards so much more. For example, instead of putting it towards progressing and improving ourselves, especially socially, we waste it by the easy to access cycle of PMO (Porn>Masturbation>Orgasm).

You think you're making good progress at the gym? Good on your studies? Great, but I'm sure you would do even better if you weren't addicted to porn.

If you feel like no matter what you do, things never work out, you are probably being held back by PMO addiction. Masturbation is a drug, just like any other. It is so much more dangerous than something like cocaine. Consider the following:

Cocaine is:

-expensive

-hard to obtain

-can OD on it

Masturbation is:

-free

-easy to obtain

-impossible to OD on, can spam it endlessly and end up masturbating 8 times in a day

Before I continue, I should give a brief explanation of what dopamine is. Dopamine, in the most basic sense, is a neurotransmitter in your brain (a messenger basically) that sends a signal of pleasure. You get dopamine for doing nearly anything. Dopamine for eating, sleeping, getting a good grade, masturbating, and doing heroin or cocaine. Heroin releases roughly the same amount of dopamine as masturbation does. But masturbation is $0, and can be done so many times without fear of OD’ing. You can blow a load right before class and if you hurry, you can make it on time. Your brain shuts off dopamine receptors (they accept the signals dopamine gives off) when you get addicted to a drug or masturbation, because they’re CONSTANTLY being flooded with that stuff. This in turn means you don’t feel as good normally. If you feel like shit all the time, surprise surprise, this is why. You have to jerk off to feel good now, because your state of masturbating constantly is the state that’s considered “normal” for your brain now. NOT masturbating is too low for your brain now.

We become lazy and unmotivated when we reward ourselves with pornography/masturbation constantly. One example is socializing. I myself have become socially retarded by subjecting myself to porn and masturbation. I have been jerking off since the 6th grade. It's been 9 years? now of masturbating for me. Through this I have avoided females and learned to view them as sex objects instead of people to spend time with and bond with. It's broken my mind and others as well (people who think all women are dumb sluts etc, have had their minds broken).

Hi /fit/.
I am a 420lb fatty (6'2) and I need help with creating a routine. The sticky unfortunerely doesn't cover the issue I have.

Basically, I have very poor impulse control. I am essentially unable to perform any exercise that sounds like the name of food because it makes me hungry and I end up binging. I've been lifting for 1 month and have gained 4 lbs because of this! Here is a list of workouts I am unable to do
