Hey /fit/. I've really let myself go when it comes to my health and fitness in general. I'm 30 years old and weigh 128 lbs. I used to lift and really want to start doing it again. I've never been huge but I did get to the point where people noticed I was lifting without me saying anything. It was a nice feeling. My max bench was around 225 lbs and deadlift around 270 lbs. The most I've ever weighed was 160 lbs. I'm only 5'8". kek. Manlet, I know. My energy is low as fuck and I don't feel mentally all there anymore. This is my fault. Reliance on benzos + not going outside much is no way to live. It's easy to fall into this trap when you've had social phobia since your teenage years. Anyway, I've been forcing myself to get up at 6 am every morning. I feel this has been good for me overall.
Would starting stronglifts be a good idea just to get back into the thick of things? Considering I'm confident in my lifting form, do these seem like safe places to start in my lifts again or too safe:
Squats 5x5 (75 lbs)
Bench Press 5x5 (55 lbs)
Rows (65 lbs)
Press (55 lbs)
Deadlift (95 lbs)
do SS. don't go crazy with the calories, get enough sleep. read the sticky
Being big =/= being alpha. /fit/ demonstrates this beyond a shadow of a doubt

Also """""social phobia""""" is not a thing.
Is this achievable natty?
>hey bro you want some pizza?
yea bro!
>what kinda toppings?
dont worry bro i got the pepperoni nipples on deck!
>>40010913
i know youre memeing but actually looking like a specific skinnyfat person is nigh-impossible. At that point your look is 100% genetics, so if you dont have similar genetics to the guy in OP you will NEVER have that kind of body without surgery or some shit.

oh thank god
Hey /fit/! So I am new to the fitness game. I have read the sticky which gave great information on health and exercise. But I am curious about over training. I have been working out consistently for a few weeks and I am not getting the results I want. I lift heavy and am eating clean with plenty of protein. I love to train my legs and glutes. I train them 3 times a week , but I am still not the booty and gams that are seen in the magazines, I am a little frustrated, Any advice on this or knowledge on the subject of over training, Thanks!
Can't tell what you're doing wrong unless you post glutes
>>40010806
How many times a week are you going? If you're new, three times a week is a good amount, maybe four. More than that and you risk just fatiguing/injuring yourself.
And space them out too. Don't do three days in a row. Do Monday/Wednesday/Friday or whatever suits you. Stick to compound exercises.
If you're sore all the time, you're not gonna be able to consistently lift the same amount and that means you're gaining less, not more, by going so much.
Make sure you're doing compound exercises too. Working your legs is great, but it sounds like you might be isolating too much because you want a phat ass.
Beyond that it's just patience. It takes 6 months to a year to start seeing real results.
>>40010806
What do you want to know about over training? As well to point you in some general direction, look at the difference between marathon runners and sprinters to make your next training routine decision.
Does anyone else feel it's unfair that men need to work hard to look good, go through their entire prime lifetime training to be considered attractive? All a woman needs to do is not be fat, which is not as difficult as building mass. To be considered attractive that is. Both sides need good genes to some extent, so I am ignoring that.
are you really that much of a little bitch boy
>>40010812
>implying I don't like looking and checking out my gains
I asked what others think about it
Don't be fat and have a decent face is 100% applicable to men. You're probably a fat and ugly manlet. Sorry you got dealt a bad hand.
How can you call yourself strong when you don't even have the strength to pull the trigger?
there are heavier things than taking out your life
>>40010630
Kek, how can you say that if you've never killed yourself before? Fucking poser.
>>40010604
That's where you're wrong anon. You're strong for not having the desire to when faced with stress.
So I've been lifting consistently for a while with no direct ab work. I decided to do deadlifts the other day (I usually don't do deadlifts) and today my abs have doms. I guess some memes aren't memes after all.
>I lift consistently
>I don't do deadlifts
Breh
dead lift twice a week. keep core tight for prety much everything. i never hit abs. eat clen, tren hard
>>40010606
>i never hit abs

Ask someone who saw virgingainz at their local gym anything.

Is the fat guy in the mirror you?
>>40010612

Is this achievable natty?!

kekking like a motherfucker
>>40010611
oh god you pulled your pants to your bellybutton to hide your muffin top. this is priceless.
So, my father is overweight and aging slightly, he is 49 almost 50 years old but wants to start getting healthy again, and I told him I would help him, but what kind of program should i suggest?? Obviously something like starting strength and such would not work, because his recovery is not nearly as quick as it used to be, and I want to help him, not hurt him. Any suggestions?
Tell him to read the fucking sticky.
>>40010448
Alright well the sticky doesn't account for lowered recovery time, now does it, jackass? Any actual help??
>>40010511
I am 53.. tell him to work gradually if he's using weights
knees and elbows are particularly vulnerable
patience is essential.. cold showers help with soreness..
I like to take a hot shower first to loosen up then a cold rinse then stretch then do some lifting .. just a few sets all around stretch do a few more etc..
as you see muscle replacing fat you'll have an easier time just don't over do it..
I lost my virginity a few days ago at the ripe age of 23 and I feel shitter than ever.
Losing my virginity didnt help me like I thought it would. It opened my eyes to even more horrors that I have to face.
>phimosis made sex extremely uncomfortable
>couldn't stop thinking about circumcision horror stories
>started pushing rope and couldnt get it past like 70% erect
>couldn't cum
I left feeling like a fucking defective retard. I have nothing going for me besides being somewhat /fit/ and I feel like no matter what, suicide is inevitable eventually.

Lots of people have terrible first time experiences with sex
>>40010359
I've tried stretching to no avail
>>40010364
I know that, but I just wanted at least one thing to go right for me, but apparently sex is also fucking torture.
What did my fortune cookie mean by this?
That you're more likely to want to quit before you even start.
Bend over and I'll show you :^)

It means when you are diagnosed with cancer, you should act as fast as possible to fight it. But if you don't, and you let it progress, there will be a point where fighting becomes too hard. It will drain you and your family. The cancer will break your will and make you wish for it to just be over with.
The cruelty of this will be that had you manned up and got a doctors finger up your ass on your 40th birthday, you could have survived and seen your children graduate, get married and have their own children.

>>40010188

Will being fit improve my self-esteem? I have problems with depression and I wonder if it could help.
BBBRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAPPFFF
>>40010157
Yes you fucking shitposter
Not just /fit/ but generally doing shit
Exercise makes you happy
That's a human shortcut
>>40010157
Having a training routine and following it really helps. It's good to have structure and make strength progress.
Lifting is the only time I feel alive.
My gym doesn't allow chalk. I'm trying to up my deadlift but it's getting really hard as the bar starts spinning/sliding in my hand, even though I know I can physically lift the weight.
What now?
>>40010151
Try to smuggle it in and keep it on the dl. Keep it in a bag so it doesn't go everywhere.
Or make/buy yourself some liquid chalk. You can buy it, but it's really easy/cheap to make. Just mix some rubbing alcohol with chalk powder. Squirt it on your hands and you're good to go.
>>40010151
Lifting gloves
>>40010151
if you can't grip the bar, you can't lift the weight. work on your grip strength. chalk is for avoiding accidents, not for bumping your numbers
