I've been teaching myself piano/music theory but can't find a term for when there is competing rhythms in the melody/harmony.
The image shows an example of what I'm talking about. The melody is in eightnotes/sixteenth but then the harmony switches from dotted eights to eights.
What is the music theory term for this called?

Alcoholic guy here. Drink every day, usually 6 beers to two points of Vodka. Sometimes I'll do both throughout an entire day.
Enormous excess calories can not be defeated by lifting weights or cardio. Feel like shit, want to die. Can't stop drinking. Want to stop drinking.
Have any of you quit before? What did you do?
For me the hard times are days before work. I'll get this enormous burst of anxiety and tension combined with a feeling of mourning. I started drinking heavy to kill that and so I could avoid having to think about going to work (I'm a cop in a shitty area so it's non-stop stress).
I know those are all excuses and wish I could just say "yeah fuck that drinkin bullshit, just lift and wheats senpai." and hopefully I can become that man.
What do /fit/?

The only way to stop yourself drinking it is to stop yourself from buying it. If you can't stop yourself from taking it off the shelf in the store then you aren't going to make it.
Start filling up on water and good food to the point where it is uncomfortable and you should have much less desire for alcohol.
Hi /fit/ how do you keep yourself internally motivated? Whether you're lifting or working toward a career, how do you keep yourself going?
I recently had a mental breakdown during a meeting and was told to go out on medical leave for a while (started crying in front of COO and other top company officials, after years of being a "rising star" in the company). I think, this was the culmination of a lifetime of only being motivated by others. Everything I've achieved in my life has been to make my GF/Boss/Teacher/Parent happy or impressed. I've always been personally apathetic to most things. 5 months after this breakdown, I find myself a NEET with no GF, no surviving parent, no income, and no one left that would care if I succeed or end up on the street. I should care, but I struggle to motivate myself.
There is a thread on /fit/ right now about "who do you lift for" and I've learned that any answer but "me" is ultimately unsustainable. For those of you that want to do things for yourself, how did you get that way and how do you stay that way?

I was always the skinniest person in the year throughout high school and college so I decided that I want to be better than other people. Once you are better than a couple of people it becomes addictive and you want to be better than most of the population.

I feel really good meeting goals. So lifting comes as a part of that. Today I can lift more than I could last week.
But it could also be any hobby really.

Is there a good low memory app you guys use to record your lifts and use notes? Like an excel sheet sort of but for the phone?
I use My fitness pal and then load results onto a spreadsheet on the weekends. Go on the app store I am sure there are better ones.
