Pretty good, depending on the owner. I believe they are a franchise gym setup so it's location dependent. Used to work out at one that was ran by an ex-powerlifter and it was great. I would suggest meeting with the owners/managers (usually the same person if it's a smaller one) and getting a feel for what they're cool with and what they're not
I train at Anytime. It's alright but it's a franchise business so how it's run will be determined partially by the franchisee.
The PT at mine is a loud, tattooed, probably roided, ego dude. That being said, heavy weights are generally accepted. But even so, there's signs for no chalk or "loud noises" (not too harshly enforced).

I have a spinal disc herniation, and I'm looking for some exercises to start strengthening my back muscles in order to, eventually, heal the hernia and reabsorb the substance
The hernia is located in my lower back, in the L5-S1 disc
When it comes to the symptoms, I'm fairly ok. I've been living with this for like, 5 months now. Many days I don't have any symptoms at all. Every now and then I get like, tiny nuisance pains. But the thing is, because of this I can't do any physical activity at all, because when I do, that's when it hurts the next day
I went to many doctors. One of 'em almost jumped out of his chair with the "let's go to surgery!" proposal. My pain is far, VERY far to the point to even think about surgery.
Other one suggested I do a few physiotherapy sessions. I did, went to ten, didn't change anything
Another one suggested: "just wait a couple of months, it'll be ok"
Other one told me to do some specific exercises, I think the discipline is called neurodynamics or something like that (at least where I live, I'm from a native spanish speaking country, I'm just translating the word); they didn't work either
The last one told me to try ozone therapy. I don't trust it. I'm not discarding it either, at least not yet, but I don't trust it
