Story time

I rememner being in the gym one time on PE.
This big gui (tm) was doing sets of leg raisers.
And this cute little blonde was jumping literally around him, asking him questions miring so hard I had to chuckle at it all. Shed be small next to me, and next to him she looked like a small animal.
This guy was pretty awkward.
All he did was
>hehehe ok
>hm haha
>looking around with "save me" written in his eyes.

Damn 14 yrold boys have more skill.

Is /fit/ a bunch of dudes like this, except not nearly as massive?

>look around at gymbros for an assist
>laughing manlet staring at me loling
>later he makes a thread making fun

Why didn't you help out?

(Also qt in the op is the definition of cute as fuck.)

Hahahaha

I was laughing manlet at that point.
She was qt and I rooted for the guy. I guess he had better at home or was awkward... Was a weird sight tho. Had to be there.

Do kettlebell swings work the quads enough, or does one need to do some other exercises as well to avoid a quad/hamstring imbalance?
4 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
Just do watermelon swings instead
>>
>>42307344
Kettlebell swings work the posterior chain of the hips, and its not really a strength exercise. Its good for conditioning
>>
>>42307384
I've gone off barbell stuff, and I'm using a kettlebell to maintain a basic level of strength so that I don't relapse to where i used to be

so would i be working my quads enough with just kb swings?

Wanna know the real reason why barbell training suddenly became so popular? It's because roiders can so it and claim it's the reason they got so big knowing normies use machines. Barbell training is much harder to perform than machines, so much so that even if a normie manages to follow a barbell only routine for any considerable period of time, they will eventually quit because they can't build enough muscle mass naturally or recover quickly enough to sustain it. This installs plausible deniability in the normie's head, "maybe he's not on roids but the barbells made him that way". Nope, it's roids, every time. Every now and again you'll find some non roider circus freaks lifting serious weight with a barbell. This is proof barbells aren't any better than machines. Science has proven your muscles don't know where the resistance is coming from. If you use machines and work all your body parts to failure twice a week then you're already optimally stimulating your muscles. Don't fall for the barbell training meme. It's only popular because it's a decoy for roiders. They're afraid of getting caught and exposed. Machines are safer, easier and just as effective if not moreso because you can go to failure without a spotter.

Everyone in the fitness industry is in on it too. Nobody is going to listen to your "expert advice" on form and take your foreign lab produced roids to break through plateaus nor are they going to support your steel worker industry barbells if they know using machines works just as well. Face it you got meme'd hard.
>>
>>42306967
Even if this was the case compound exercises would still be a more efficient use of time than machines.

Say at one point I was 6'0, 190lbs at 15% bf, with a 300lb bench

Then, I stopped working out for a year, and ended up at 230lbs.

If I started working out again and eating at a calorie deficit, I could still gain back a lot of muscle and strength, right? How long could that go on for? Like, would I only reach 80-90% of my previous bench before the calorie deficit is too much to keep the gains going?

So I'm almost to snap city if I'm not there already.

The back of my right knee hurts too much to do any squats, failed this morning doing a warmup set with just the bar.
This knee has been the reason I haven't been able to make any significant progress on my squats. I'll start increasing weight, fuck my knee up, have to rest and go back further than where I started.

Probably going to see a doctor in case it really is injured.

In the meantime, what should I do to reduce pain while also regaining my strength?
Tried stretching and foam rolling to no avail.

>Tried stretching and foam rolling to no avail
>he fell for the reddit cookie cutter advice
I think that's only going to make it worse.
What you need to do
>stop doing leg exercises until it FULLY heals
>rest (Sleep, lots of sleep)
>Eat lots of protein
>Ice/soak/compress for temporary pain relief
>work on your upper body strength in the meantime

If it doesn't get better in a month go see a doctor. Do some very light walking to keep it active, but that's it. Also, NEVER push the weight forward and ignore pain for your ego; that's the fastest way to fuck shit up.
>>
What the other anon said. You progressed too fast with the weight on squat, so don't do legs for at least 6 weeks. Then start light, extremely light, let your chondrocytes adapt to the exercise. If you develop any syptoms, see a physician.
>>
>>42306880

Your knees are probably going too far forward at the bottom of your squat, check out Alan Thrall's new squat tutorial he explains it in detail
