Sick of being a lanklet... 6 '4, 150 just got to the gym, straight to the squat rack, have to unload 4 plates, can't even do 1 plate. feels bad mang. Looking for some origin stories for motivation, help a brother out.

I'm currently sitting at 193 lbs (5'11) and ~13% body fat. I lift for strength and eat whatever I want while avoiding refined sugar at all costs.

Is it realistic to cut to 185 at 10% bf for track season? I'm going to be lifting in the morning and doing an extensive HIIT (track workouts) every night. I'm also going to be watching my diet more carfully than I do now.

Realistic goal? Pic related is me now.

Hey /fit/,

Around fall of last year I realized I was getting too big for my own good. At around 170 lbs and around 5'6" with little to no stamina or muscle mass, I was really unsatisfied with my body and its future.

I started hitting the gym in the fall and continued on through early spring. I followed the stripped 5x5 to a t. I knew I would gain weight during the process, but I didn't imagine how much.

In a period of maybe five months I went from 170 to nearly 200 lbs. I was on a diet of maybe 1500 calories per day, no soda, junk food, etc. And I felt amazing, don't get me wrong. I felt strong as hell. I hadn't been able to lift as much in my life before and I felt healthy and charismatic. I'd gone from lifting an average of maybe 20 lbs for a few reps to lifting a few sets of 150 lbs. It was a huge confidence booster.

But I'll be damned if I didn't still look chunky. Even chunkier now than I did before. Hell, now none of my clothes fit me quite right. I went from having about three times the clothes that fit me now. Things at home kept me from the gym and I'm ashamed to say I haven't been back since. Thankfully, some of my clothes fit again, but I know that it was a mistake on the whole. Kind of sucks that I can't afford a new wardrobe, otherwise I'd just ride it out.

Do I just need to do more cardio? Should I focus mainly on cardio until I get to a weight that satisfies me? I never imagined that gaining size would be this much of an issue.

i would say this is a bad idea because there is no progression on compounds, which a beginner really needs.I'd suggest adding isolations in this programs to GSLP which has progression. And ride that train until the noob gains dry out.

How much weight do I need to gain and how high should my lifts be in order to be stronger than the average nig-nog?

I live in nignog central and was just wondering. I've noticed I'm getting stronger than the teenage blackies but the guys past 20 are fucking gorillas.

If I'm skinny all over but I've got a little belly fat, but I'm also trying to gain muscle, do I still eat big?
I'm perfectly normal everywhere, I've just got a little pinchable fat around my stomach.
I do cardio like running, cylcing, and swimming.

If you're trying to gain muscle mass, you're likely going to gain a bit of fat, too. Fat on men tends to accumulate in the midsection (the "gut"), just like how fat on women tends to accumulate in the ass/tits/hips.

If you want to get bigger, you're going to have to eat at a caloric surplus. You could try to do some body recomposition, but if you don't have much fat on your body (as you claim), then it's likely going to be very, very slow going. I don't even know why I respond to you apes when you haven't even read the fucking sticky.

I hurt my shoulder. I think I aggravated my supraspinatus doing too many OHPs with too much weight.

It feels fine unless I try to raise my left hand above my head. Last I went to the gym, I tried stretching it out, but couldn't even press a handtowel I was using to stretch.

Just been doing cardio for a week, but it hasn't improved.

Are there any stretches or self-massages I can do to help it out?
